I like these moves, I'm just not sure Ottawa says yes as they see Brannstrom as a future member of the core

I don’t think they view him as a member of the core, especially with Sanderson coming next season.

No reason at all for Ottawa to do that. Brannstrom is finally coming into his own, and he's getting more and more confident every game. He's got the coach's trust and he looks to be in the process of solidifying his role on this team long term. Trading him now for such a middling return does nothing but set the team up to look incredibly stupid

A top 10 goalie isn’t worth it 🤔

The time to buy low on Brannstrom has likely passed. His stock will only continue to rise with the way he's playing. Honestly would have a hard time seeing a situation where he moves now. Unless theyre planning on bringing Holden back there's still a spot on the left side next season with Chabot and Sanderson.

Top 10! He is a backup. If he is top 10 you need to check you list lol

he is not a backup. Over the last 3 seasons Varlamov has been a top 10 goalie, that is a fact

The numbers don't lie

Ya man so was Mike Smith. He is now constantly hurt. You don't pay of the past in a trade. Miko had good numbers too in the past. Can we just swap the two guys?

Mike smith had 1 good season after 2 terrible ones and he’s 40 years old. Varlamov has been very good this season and he’s been vezina caliber since 2019. You’ll have to trade at least a 2nd for varlamov and more if you want isles to take a cap dump

Understanding Senators management/coaching is not the easiest thing to do. They make a LOT of puzzling moves so you never know what's going on.

They were stubborn on NOT playing Brannstrom on his preferred side (RD) and bang when he comes back from injury? He's on RD

Surprisingly, it's the best he has looked in a while!

So what is it? Do they plan to have him on RD or on LD? Because on LD, there's no spot for him long term with Chabot and Sanderson literally eating the ice

That's the funny part in all this. Of course, we're in fantasy on this site but all that time people were claiming him to be a bust, he doesn't have much value if any, etc... We tried to tell them, they didn't listen.
