lmao, people are just undervaluing Barrie while overvaluing Chiarot. even with the latter potentially getting a first, getting an awesome PP specialist with a 2nd is great

Well, we so do not need samaroukov on LD we have Chiarot, Edmundson, romanov, kulak, clague, niku. All these players are better than samaroukov. LD in pipeline: norlinder, guhle, Harris, struble, trudeau, xhekaj. All of them have wayy more potential than samaroukov, therfore his value to the habs is worth 0. We don't want barrie If we are selling, the last thing we want is another defenseman who SUCKS defensively. Like if you traded barrie for draft picks it would be equivalent to like a 2nd and 4th. Since barrie doesn't have value to us like a contending team it's really just a 2nd. Therefore in total to us it's like 2 2nds. We rather have a 1st and 3 / C prospect. ( which the habs will get from another team) therefore habs reject all the way around

Except after this year you won’t have chiarot and kulak anymore. I do not believe you have any clue who Samaroukov is and even if you have heard of him I guarantee you are over valuing your players over him. Also lots of teams need a D that can run a powerplay and you currently do have anyone and that is one reason your PP sucks! It really makes no difference to me because it is your option vs mine, have a great day.

Habs don't have the space to replace Chiarot with a contract with term, without at least moving a similar contract out.
We're better off moving Chiarot without diminishing the pick return. Barrie has value to a team in the right situation. That's not Montreal.

Samorukov is the 3rd asset here, it doesn't matter if the Habs need him or not. I saw him ranked as the 4th best Edmonton prospect in their polls (on another website). Replace him by Raphael Lavoie then, a big 6"3 forward from the QC province.

A 2nd is good, and as the Oilers season is going, it won't be a late 2nd

Barrie is probably the best piece, the point for the Habs would obviously be to flip him as well. So let's say he's only worth a 2nd and 4th like you say, you have two 2nds, a 4th and Lavoie... lol How much are Habs fans expecting to get back for Chiarot?

I think you're saying a 1st and a 3rd (which is far from a guarantee), which is not really better than two 2nds + 4th + Lavoie, it's actually less since that 1st would probably be very late.

See above. I see the point that Barrie's term is a "risk" but I think it's still movable. Good PP QBs are always sought after. Barrie sheltered on a good team could actually be a great asset.

And Habs need to rebuild. Even if it's not really possible for now, they will still start by a big retool and will move out some salary. Cap won't or shouldn't be a problem for a while.
