You know that Couturier has signed an 8-year deal with Flyers? He's not going anywhere without the likes of Matthews going Flyers' way.

DAL declines. No need for Mrazek and Ritchie there. But they'd probably trade Klingberg to Leafs for Holl+Robertson+1st. Dunno if there's a fit for an offensive D-man in Leafs though.

I don't think Sens accept either. They seem to really like Paul, despite his performance being a bit meh this year.

How would you even fit Couturier in next season? Marner would have to be traded in the offseason I assume.

PHI declines either way. They aren't trading a guy they signed to an 8 year deal before he even starts the contract.

and ill take the younger, cheaper guy who scores at a higher rate, puts up better defensive numbers while averaging less ice time in harder zone starts while playing with guys like Kampf, simmonds and 90 year old Jason Spezza instead of Brown, Stutzle and Formenton

I prefer Paul over Engvall but the third is a decent sweetener.

Cheaper? By 100k.... Younger? By a year... Putting up better numbers? That makes sense when youre on a better team... Paul barely plays with Stuetzle and the only reason he's played with Forms is because he was breaking into the league. The comparison isnt equal.

That said, I'd take a trade similar to this because odds are Paul signs right back in Ottawa come free agency haha

The point was that he is literally better in every way, even if its small.
So if you want paul, you're getting a guy who is literally worse in every way
