Just out of curiosity, because there has been a bit of a trend from Devils fans thinking the Oilers want/need Tatar, which they don't, IF they wanted anyone from the Devils it would be Blackwood(when healthy and obviously a no go from the Devils perspective) and/or Ryan Graves, which again is an unlikely trade candidate for Jersey..

I would do that trade. I think it's monumentally unfair to judge a guy based off a handful of bad plays in two losses to a superior team. Severson is a good player.

Yeah and he's not good defensively, I would use that package for a guy like Manson

I figure they're looking for any help on the wing they can get. Tatar is an okay player and a middle of the road prospect isn't that steep of an ask

Lol, you guys have been all over him for months and now you don't want him based off of 2 games. His defensive metrics are solid.

Who isn't good defensively but has a reputation that is based on a good playoff run like 5 years ago. Severson is a lot better than Manson.

I'd be on board with that Sprong trade, especially if Washington can flip Johnsson. If not we can keep him, but I would hope to flip him in order to play McMIchael or Protas. I'm a big Kuokkanen fan, and as of recent I've been much lower on Sprong, so I would accept this if I was DC.

Ranks in top-5 in NHL in defensive goals over replacement.

So actually has been quite good.

Manson plays a mean, very physical style of hockey that the Leafs don't have an abundance of. He is the type of player to lay big hits to get the team all energized, but if the joins the Leafs, he will turn into an offensive defensemen

I watched his defensive coverage in the last two games, and if that is being good defensively, I have no interest bringing him in

You, like many leaf fans, made a flash judgement based on one play at the end of the first game.

If that is how TML scouting department works, it would explain a lot.

at the very least a new face, Kuokkanen's been invisible all year and Johnsson's gone freezing cold since the hot start.

right handed shooter in Sprong, only 24 so still some potential there. 22 goals in his last 79 games in a limited role, every time we play the Caps I find him to be noticeable.

Which I understand the thinking behind this, but, they don't need a Winger anymore now that they've added Kane, and Holloway will likely come up to the main roster in March to play in the top 6, and the $925k hit would be more beneficial for the them than taking on $4.5m this and next season.. If anything when they do bring up Holloway, they will likely make Yamamoto expendable to bring in a bottom pairing left shot d man, or a package with Koskinen to free up cap space/take on a better goalie than Koskinen/Smith...

a) One play
b) Everything else

I will warn you, Sprong (much like Kuokannen) can go invisible at times, and I have concerns about his defensive skills. Also takes some bad penalties at bad times. When he is on, he is amazing. When he's off, he is invisible.
