Detroit should take both these deals, probably could flip dadonov in the off-season if we retain some cash.

Nobody is going to give them full value for Martinez. At least they damn well shouldn't.

He’s a good defenseman on a reasonable contract. They’ll get close to value for him. It’s dadonov that’s they’ll get low value for…but I don’t think he’ll be a dump

I think you're being overly optimistic, man. He's definitely a good defenseman, one of the most underrated for years. However, he's also 34 with a 2x5.25 past this season - so that "reasonable" is kinda on shaky ground. And of course, there's the dire straits Vegas are in. That's the big one. Everybody knows they're beyond desperate to shed cap.

You're 100% right that Vegas should try moving others first, but hey... we don;t always get what we want.

The thing is as desperate as they are to shed cap, there’s always a market for good defensemen. They’ll at least get a bit of a bidding war for him.

A bidding war? How many teams have the cap for him? And how many of those would need him? It would definitely need to be a contender (or a team that imagines they could be... looking at you, EDM) to get anything at all out of him, and most of those have no cap. Besides, there could be loads of D-men available, including better, younger and/or cheaper LDs.

I would not get my hopes up on that one.

Deadline the remaining cap would be lower. If team don’t want to pay huge for chych I could see Edmonton, Florida, maybe devils making the call

Edmonton?? They have minimal cap and need a goalie, any goalie, first and foremost. All in all, like I said, you're being super duper optimistic everything will work out just so. Life usually doesn;t flow that way.

Ok this year, sure, but it the following two years carrying that 5.t million that teams will look at also. Very few teams have cap and those teams are in good positions, there will be teams lined up to dump cap. The bidding war is there not the other way around.

What are you thinking like 2 or 3 years at $4,100,000?

I would want the Rangers in on the Dadonov/Dorofeyev sweepstakes. I really wanted them to pick Dorofeyev over Henriksson back in 2019.

I would be ok with that Martinez trade. Would prefer to get better value for him but that's the most I would be ok with paying.

I think Whitecloud may be the one getting moved and I say this because of one guy Coghlan. Hes making under 1mill for another year and once Eichel is back Vegas has no room to keep everyone.

    With the top 4 being

    Martinez-Theodore
    McNabb-Pitrangelo

Whitecloud making over a mill as a third pair makes 0 sense. I think they gave him that big deal to make him more tempting to a team. As with that you can sign Hague to a cheap extension and go

    Hague-Coghlan as the third pair.

In general though wow is Eichel's 10mill gonna make the teams managers go crazy. Especially if he comes back in March....
