Avs are not trading Barron for lehkonen. That’s a large over payment

Just for my knowledge, which one do you think have more value between Drew Helleson and Justin Barron. Also, I dont think Montreal trade Lehkonen for less than that, but I understand if no team would be willing to pay that price. They will probably keep him for the rest of the season unless a team is desperate to get him.

Barron has move value, hes NHL ready and already looked good in his emergency call up this year.
Lehkonen is a nice player but he is what he is, a 3rd line defensive winger. Teams wont be offering up top prospects for that. If avs moved a d prospect its for an impact player at the deadline, not more of what they have

That's too high of a price for Petry.

The issue with the LeBrun rumor about Petry to Dallas is that all we know is Dallas showed interest, but it didn't say anything about what they are willing to offer. It also gave an indication of what Montreal wants in return, but doesn't say whether Dallas (or any other team) is willing to give up that much for Petry.

Changed both trade. Does it looks better or still too much?

same applies, Olausson is a top prospect for the avs, Lehkonen just does not have that sort of value to get a prospect of such as that. What he does, a defensive 3rd line winger is pretty common, he doesnt have that sort of draw to him that a team will part with that high of a price tag

Well I guess we just don't see his value the same way. I don't think he's a pretty common 3rd line winger, I feel like he's one of the best defensive winger in the league which is why I think he has so much value. I wouldn't be surprised if he was top 10 in the league in term of his defensive capabilities has a winger. Maybe his offensive abilities are lacking but I don't think his value matter that much because of this.

great defensive wingers with little offensive output are not hard to find,
Avs have great defensive wingers in Nichushkin and Landeskog, Logan O'Connor. Those guys have more offensive ability than Lehkonen. Hes a nice player to have but team arent going to over spend on what you can find for a 3rd round pick at he deadline for other rentals who do the same job.

COL isn’t trading Olausson, Barron or a 1st rd pick (though a 1st could be part of the package)in a trade for a 3rd liner no matter how nice he would be in the line up. Sakic has traded exactly 1 1st rd pick and that was to get Kuemper when he got a bit boxed in on the goalie market. Also he doesn’t over pay in trades, Olausson projects nicely as a top 6 winger in 2 years, Barron in the NHL next year and possibly the top 4 the following year. That kind of talent on ELC’s is important to the Avs going forward because of the cap. Does that mean they are untouchable? No they aren’t Newhook and Byram level talents, but if they are moved it will be for top 6 high end talent. In addition Lehkonen needs an extension, the MTL thought process that he is going to fetch a Coleman like return hits a major snag with that detail.

If I were CGY, I'd probably take that. Though I'd be more prone to give MTL Zary instead of Coronato.

No team is trading their top F or D prospect for a third line wing. Avs decline.
