Habs easily lose each of those trades. Chiarots is probably the closet in value. Thats the least creative way to move petry, take back a contract or something to create some value otherwise we dont move him. Islanders deal is a non start not moving caufield and Leckonen for a 4th is laughable. He can play in most teams middle 6, plays a solid two way game, is great on the pk and is on a reasonable contract and still an RFA after this year, at the very least it will take a second to get him and even then i think there will be multiple teams interested in him and habs will retain if needed to get more value out of that deal.

No thanks on Petry. Young, up and coming team, not super interested in adding Petry's cap hit while giving up any sort of asset. I'd flip a contract like Silfverberg for him, but other than that, meh.

I don't think Caufield works in the Islanders system. I haven't checked his offensive stats lately, but I know they aren't what they were at the end of last season and in the playoffs.

Islanders are probably keeping Beauvillier. Pageau Trade I see coming sometime in the next 2-3 years due to Aatu Raty coming to the league, but I don't think it's this trade that is made.

Anaheim declines. The outstanding term on Petry's contract doesn't fit our strategy of getting younger, getting faster, and developing those youngsters into quality players.

I feel like the Islanders think long and hard before declining. I wouldn't be surprised if they had a little worry about the remaining term on JGP's deal after how he's played/struggled with injuries this year.

I think the returns on the Lehkonen & Chiarot trades are a little weak, too - Habs could probably draw a little more blood on both those deals.

I agree on the Isles part. I know Lou would probably want to go out and accept it but I think at the end of the day he would decline it in order to keep the team he's sort of built together.
