Detroit passes, Have better prospects then Compher. And fat chance of Hertl taking a 1 year deal.

Compher would be a third line LW/C/RW on 90 percent of the teams in the league, if the wings don't take him then there are plenty of others that would. I think you underrate him. He's no superstar but he's a perfectly good bottom 6 NHLer.

Jonatan Berggren can fill all 3 position on Detroit's 3rd line as well. he's lighting it up in Grand Rapids with 29 points in 37 games and cost cheaper.

Exactly Detroit has no space for Compher, And he's not an upgrade anyways would rather just keep Namestnikov who's far better.

I don't think Detroit trades for Compher as a center either. Our 2nd line (The Guelph Line) is keeping up with are 1st line production wise. Detroit is happy with Rasmussen's progress in becoming a shut down center. Then Veleno is in the #4C spot and Detroit isn't ready to give up on him just yet.

He is a center also but I don't see him fitting in there either.
