The dallas and NJD trade is good value, Minnesota is giving too much for kulak, the rest montreal could get more

Petry is barely worth a 2nd (still wouldn't trade for him). Dallas isn't adding a top-3 prospect to the deal as well. Petry simply isn't worth that.

If Montreal wants to maximize value from a Petry trade, they need to hold on to him & hope that he goes through some kind of hot streak toward the back end of this year or sometime next year. As a Habs fan, you should be praying that they don't move Petry now because his value has cratered.

Why are they looking at "last year's Petry" and not the one that's currently playing on the ice today? That doesn't make sense.

Rick Bowness is also holding Klingberg back, and his production hasn't fallen off a cliff the way Petry's has this year. Sure, the coach may account for part of it, but a large portion of the blame has to fall on the player as well.

Islanders take that trade 8 days a week, with the real-life caveat that Lou is extremely loyal to Schneider and that this deal would only happen if Cory gives it the thumbs-up.
