I don't understand why not. Miller is a top scorer in the league. Would you even do a Miller for Schneider one for one?

Why would they? What are they getting in this deal that is of value? The 2nd is the best piece. The ceiling that Dahlen has is much better than anything they are getting in return. 3rd liner, 4th liner and 2nd isn’t useful to San Jose especially when they are being asked to give up a young good player and a pick.

Nope. Schneider is not available for trade. He is part of the long term plan and the Rangers have no need to give up a piece of the long term plan for JT Miller.

Because most fans are constantly building for the future rather than trying to win now.

Ya its amazing that Canucks fans still don't understand Schneider is part of NYR's 2026 rebuild plans when Shesterkin needs a new contract and Panarin Kreider Zib and Strome are all past their prime.

I think it could work to some degree. With Brooks now back someone could get pushed out. Mikheyev has been excellent but hes probs a candidate who will leave during the offseason as we cant keep him and Campbell (unless one takes a massive discount).

While I would like to explore other options this aint necessarily a bad suggestion.

Got a feeling though were gonna make a deal with Philly for Braun and Brassard where Ritchie goes the other way but who knows. This season really has been unpredictable for who were gonna go after.

Haha. The leafs give up a middle 6 forward and dump Ritchies cap, giving up a 2nd and 4th, or maybe can be just a 2nd. In return they get a cheap, solid RD that can pair with Muzzin, and an awesome 3rd line winger. Motte is so underrated, have you ever seen him play?

except that the leafs are getting worse here, if a trade doesnt make the team better then you dont make it.

they get a cheap RD who would be their 7th D and a 4th liner. Mott isnt a 3rd liner at all, and yes, i have seen him play. Hell, if Motte is an awesome 3rd liner than Mikheyev is an amazing 2nd liner

But then all you need to do then is move Engvall up to be with Kampf and Kase and put Motte with Spezza and Simmonds.

While Im not saying I would do this trade first I would explore all options beforehand. Got a feeling we can do better with Philly as they seem to pay for guys like Ritchie but who knows

i'd rather have mikheyev with the 3rd line because he can then also move to the 2nd line if needed, he gives more flexibility up the roster.

LOL. So Drury's given you the inside scoop on NYR's 2026 rebuild plan? By 2026, all NYR's top 6 forwards will be gone and I'm not sure that Lafreniere and Kaako can fill those spots. NYR should win now while they can. Would you rather have a Stanley cup, or 3-4 years of making the playoffs until a rebuild happens.

Since Ritchie cleared waivers, I am pretty sure he will be a cap dump in any trade.

Clearly you havent seen Philly's recent trades

They paid their 13th OA pick a 2nd and Hagg for Ristolinen. And per recent reports they got interest in Ritchie so its almost a given per managements recent trades they will pay to get him lul. Wont be anything flashy but would not be surprised if a Ritchie for Braun trade happens

Its amazing that Canuck fans don't understand that Schneider is Trouba's replacement in a few seasons and his low cap hit is vital for the Rangers to keep other players. Bottom line is you can't have him no matter how much nonsense you post.

Hey man I'm on your side. Let's get the young guys some experience for now and then go all in when Laf is winning the art Ross, Kakko the Selke, and Schneider the Norris
