Is the difference between Kerfoot and Miller for the next 1.5 years, Amirov, Robertson and a 1st? And for the Leafs to to afford the difference cap of 1.75m difference seems rather impractical.
never doing that miller trade, he's not worth close to that and if some team wants to give that up for him they are stupid (which i mean gms have proven that they are stupid)
Isles are looking for a 1st for Mayfield, if not will just keep him for next year. At worst if the Isles are out of the playoffs again next year they will still be able to get 2 2nds.

I mean I agree it is a lot for miller but I also think Miller is a MASSIVE upgrade over Kerfoot.
Kerfoot would have to be moved to a non playoff team, as I don't see any playoff teams that want that contract.
Maybe AZ could flip him or something next year.

I'm looking at more from a cap view. Yea Miller is an upgrade, but how to Leafs pay Reilly's new contact next year and their other RFAs? Leafs are depending on Amirov and Robertson to be long term Leafs.
For cap reasons, it's totally impractical for the Rangers to acquire Miller also, and we have seen hundreds of those trades
Leafs will be fine keeping him (unless we can upgrade), I would easily keep a 27 year old winger who is on pace for 57 points and shows up in the playoffs

No, they don't. His secondary assists are through the roof playing with two point per game stars. Everyone can see through that. He is still the same player he was last year.

Nope, wrong. Pittsburgh easily accepts, Leafs will probably ask for more though

That's an overpayment for Mayfield. NYI should take that and run.
Everyone needs to stop using Chiarot as this benchmark for value. Montreal wants a first for him, but guess what, nobody has caved yet and I highly doubt MTL gets that first. So yeah, just because the Isles are LOOKING for a first doesn't mean they're getting it. This is more than someone should give for Mayfield, so if I were Lou, I'd take it and go.

Not using Chiarot at all for determining value as I do not think he gets a 1st as well. I believe he would go for a 2nd and 3rd, which if Mayfield was a UFA as well would be fair value. But Mayfield is not a UFA and the Isles can easily keep him, and if needed trade him for a 2nd and 3rd next year.
