I like all of these, the only minor adjustment I'd make is adding Jesper Boqvist to the New Jersey trade for Boeser

I wouldn't so much say the team needs fixing as it already has some good foundational pieces in place, but it for sure needs to be improved via a retool of sorts

Did everyone miss the part in the Sevaralli article that said the return would be less than Toffoli?

Unfortunately, our pick is going to be a top-5 pick, so that doesn’t work. Change it to a 2nd rounder and add a prospect.

Do you think if the pick is like 7-10 overall? They wouldn't do it?

What kind of prospect are you thinking? Like an a or b prospect?

What does Montreal gain from that trade? They flip a guy who could potentially get flipped for a mid round draft pick in the offseason or next year for an albatross contract worth more money for an extra year that they have no chance of moving. Why would they ever make that trade??

It would be a hockey trade, Myers trade value isn't any lower than Drouin's

whats the highest that pick could be in your mind to make the trade? 8th? 10th? 14th?

You're correct. My bad. It was Drance and Dayal in The Athletic yesterday

Anything 1-12 I would not trade. 13+ are probably out of reach for us.

I would love it if we could acquire another 1st to trade here.

Drouin is younger and definitely more valuable . He's performing decently enough this year and will be a rental bait next year. Drouin is ten times more valuable than that cauldron

Montreal’s not really looking to make a “hockey trade”. Myers does nothing but bog them down with more money for longer. If, as you say, Drouin’s value is less than Myers’, it’d make him virtually unmovable - which it isn’t, Montreal can retain 50% and flip him for a second or a third this offseason to a contending team who wants a solid middle six winger at a 2.75 mil cap hit. Montreal could still get out of that deal at the end of next year. If they make this boneheaded move of a trade, they are stuck paying big clunky Tyler Myers $6 mil for an extra year after they could’ve gotten out of drouin’s. This trade doesn’t make Montreal any better now, it doesn’t help them in the future. Again I ask, why would Montreal ever do this trade??

I think I'd prob do Zacha and the 13-15th pick for Boeser. Prob not a late 1st though.

Ok. So how do we get a 13th or 15th pick then?

I think Zacha, prospect, #38 overall is probably our most realistic option.

Drouin isn't any easier to move than Myers, I think you are a bit too optimistic about Drouin's value, we don't really know how well he will perform on a contending team

We don't know how well Drouin would perform on a contending team, and Myers is having a very good season but some reason you are choosing to ignore that

Alright. For arguments sake lets say Drouin is “unmovable”. No team is willing to give up anything for him except bums like Tyler Myers. For the third time I ask you, why would Montreal make this trade?

It would be a sort of retool move, that's of course assuming they can't get futures for Drouin, and they'd probably only do this if they can move Petry elsewhere as well, and Myers isn't a bum, he is having a very good season
