Personally, I would say Kulak is worth somewhere between a 4th and a 6th, and I would not even mind retaining half on him for a 4th 1:1.

Kulak doesnt play RD. In the times he has played with chiarot or romanov this year they push over to the right.

They are capable of playing the right side that's the thing. I mean I am a big fan of snagging lybushkin for the role. plays for a trash yotes team and has elite underlying defensive stats

I think he is a solid cheap option. Honestly think he is a better bang for the buck than chairot defensively. still my #1 guy from this list would be lybushkin. his underlying defensive stats are nuts

I wouldn't do that. If you can only get a 4th half retained for kulak they would be better off offering that retention spot as a 3rd party in a trade because historically thats what the cost has been. It has to be a 3rd to consider eating salary.

i think if there is a bidding war yeah but, if there's not much interest anything between a 4th - 6th could get it done

4th minimum

agreed. but he'd be close to the bottom on this list. I am a big fan of snagging lybushkin. He plays on an awful yotes team and is having insane defensive numbers while being moving across the lineup

Kulak is not a specialist at anything, but is amazing at everything. If i can say that.

If your looking for someone you would prioritize a LD that plays right somewhat frequently. Kulak is not that.

I think though that Montreal seattle and Arizona are the teams where the oilers have the best chance to make a move for a man. Especially since those 3 teams are hurting on the pp and oilers have a PP quarterback that is stuck in a place where he can't succeed. But like I said Lybushkin is my #1 target.

Habs only would want barrie for a 5th or else

You could likely get Stecher for a 4th. He's a RD. Stevie-Kenny like making trades.

I mean tbh, kulack is near the bottom end of the list for me. Lybushkin is #1 target cause he is insane defensively and is capable of moving up and down the lineup

There's gonna be a big bidding war for players like kulak and lyubushkin. It might cost more than expected

Thats why I think Arizona or seattle are more in front in this regard because they are looking for a pp1 quarterback badly and looking for young capital

Lyubushkin/Braun would be nice as rentals, but Mayfield in NYI would be a good longer-term option. maybe even Schenn from VAN. some under the radar and potentially not even available options would be Artem Zub, Dylan DeMelo, Philippe Myers, Matt Roy, Jani Hakanpaa. but swapping out Barrie for a more defensively sound RHD is a priority for the team imo

For me:
Soucy
Braun
Lyuskhin
Pysk
Kulak
Siegenthaler

However none of these guy's are better than Barrie so if Oil are gonna have one of them play the right side then Barrie would have to be involved in the trade. Also if these players are all rentals whether it's left side or right side, how big of an upgrade are they on the existing third pairing oilers guy's? To me Koekkoek, Russell, Niemalinin, Laegessen would fall around where Pysk and Kulak are. So if the oilers spend a 3rd or even higher on any of these guy's are they really that big of an upgrade? Now if Braun, Lyus, or Pysk would resign then that may be a different story

possibly but it will not be as aggressive as the ones for chiarot and braun. Cause Lybushkin and Chiarot aren't the sexiest targets on paper I don't see anybody going overboard to acquire either of them

Chiarot will fetch 1st + 3rd. Even though he SHOULD get 2nd + 4th

100% agree. I think if you can re-sign lybushkin he is the guy. Amazing defensively, cheap and oilers can move out barrie in that kind of deal (using young capital if necessary)

They serve completely different options tbh, Kulak is more of a bottom pairing moving defenseman while Chiarot is more of a defensive, physical defenseman. Chiarot is someone any team will be happy to have come playoffs, my thoughts on him were negative until the cup run last season, and he hasnt been too bad considering the circumstances. Unfortunately for him, we have guys coming up soon who can play his role.
