Description
My dream Avs TDL. This assumes they shut down Byram for the year.

PHI: Flyers get three NHL players in JTC, Murray, and Bowers. Helleson can likely jump to the show next year. Murray on an expiring deal to make the money work.

DET: Namestnikov got a 4th last time the Avs traded for him. Bump to a 3rd for 50% retained.

Namestnikov is playing at a much higher rate this year so his past value isn't much of an indicator of his current value. Taking a retention spot alone is worth at least a 4th. If you want retention a 2nd is closer to what I think his real value will be.

Your really close though. Just bump it up again or get him without retention.

3rd/4th + prospect (e.g., Kaut or Beaucage)?

If you're adding to the 4th line, I think I'd prefer a defensive forward like Clutterbuck. Namestnikov might look good on the third with Nichushkin and Newhook though.

I'd try to swap out Bowers for a third in the Philly trade, but that's small potatoes. Overall looks pretty good.

I like the Flyers trade, Helleson 1st and bowers as the future pieces works

I pass on Namestnikov, hes not worth a 3rd IMO, hes not as good as when he was traded twice the same year for a 4th round pick, dont see the logic trading a better pick for a guy who isnt really bedder than LOC or NAK?

I would try to snag somene else. Rather do Clutterbuck for a 3rd than Namestnikov

My thinking is that Namestnikov is more maneuverable throughout the lineup should someone go down. Clutterbuck is purely a 4th liner in my book.

That's true and a good point. I think with Jost and LOC also capable that is a nice to have but maybe not a necessity. Gotta weigh that against the heavier game and defense first mentality that clusterf@%k brings. No right or wrong but more a matter of preference I guess.

IMO avs have enough guys who can move around the top 9. NAK, LOC, Compher, Newhook. Those guys can moonlight in the Top 6 if needed. Get something else besides a Swiss army knife that really was meh during his stint

He also is reasonable for that goal against in game 7 against the stars. SO im done on him bc of that brain fart of his, just plays a bit too soft on the puck for my liking

Cool I didn't suggest I, I said I agree with the above posters, learn to read. Namenstinkov is getting a 2nd with retention or they will just resign him and not move him. since avs can't the op said 3rd and one of beaucage or kaut and I agreed.

Namenstinkov is not being traded for a 2nd bc of retention, you guys are living in a dream world thinking he is going to get more than 4th. He has almost the identical stat line last time he was traded at the TDL, which was a 4th round pick. He had a cap hit of 4m. At 2m, even if you retain that is not a significant amount which now makes the same production from the same player but now 2 years older jump up from a 4th to a 2nd.

And then he doesn't get moved and we resign him and it's fine and everybody is happy. No point in moving him for a 4th, we are past that part of the rebuild

Both overpays by the Avs imo. Namestnikov 4th or pass. Maybe 3rd with retention. Too many pieces going to PHI.
