MIN
  1. Steel, Sam
Additional Details:
Steel could really use a change in scenery. Seems like the talent is there, he just has been stuck behind Zegras, Getzlaf, and Lundstrom.

Reports are our gm is looking for a 2nd round pick. I am guessing with judd brackett if wild can get an additional 2nd round 3, we will have 3 and judd brackett has his eye on someone in the draft

That wasn't a report, that was purely Russo's speculation. Below is the quote:

"McBain was a third-rounder in 2018, and it’s likely the Wild would want a pick higher than that in return."

Friedman tweeted Guerin is asking people for 2nd round pick also.

His value is entirely dependent on where he’s willing to sign, no? Like if he’s cool with 12 teams, but just doesn’t want MN, then I’d imagine we can probably salvage some value. But if he’s set on only a handful of places, then idk how much we can really expect.

yeah but fox had an extra year left in college before he could become a free agent, mcbain's one at the end of the year. feels like interested teams could just hold out and wait for him to sign. fox was a better prospect at the time than mcbain is now as well.

He is one of the few NHL ready players who will be available to play this season, and in the playoffs. Based off more than 24 teams calling about his availability as reported, will more likely than not get the asking price. That being said, I feel like steel would cost more than a second and the reason he isn’t signing is that he doesn’t want to be buried on a roster of Cs, which is the argument for moving Steel.

I don’t get why he’s being touted as NHL ready. He was scratched in the Olympics and his points came from the game against China. I know he’s scoring at BC but I think you’re looking at a Jimmy Vesey. Some teams could ansolutely throw him the bone of NHL time, but I don’t think he’s more than a replacement level guy.

As a Ducks fan I don’t really think Steel has an NHL center-capable game. He’s been a 3rd line winger and I think that’s his role. I’d consider him for Mcbain but haven’t watched him play before
