Whilst I don't think Kane would fetch anywhere near what a lot of ppl on here project (multiple firsts, top prospects etc), that does absolutely nothing for the 'hawks. Especially with that kind of retention.

Take more than that for Kane.

Chara sucks. If you are trading Reilly to make cap space just get the 3rd he’s worth.

Also, will be a little like Hall’s trade to Boston in that the NMC allows him to pick the team he wants to play for. Without an open market bidding on him, the return will be a lot smaller than many expect.

i the offseason i fully expect kane to be dealt at 50% retention to a team thats going all in and has the space and the need. nobody is taking him at his full hit, nobody can really afford to bring that in for 1 year thats a contender anyways.

I trade Reilly in every ACGM because he's terrible and watching him makes my eyes hurt haha

I don't love Chara either but hes playing 18 min a night and is a plus player on a terrible team I'll take him on the ice in front of the net in the final minute over forbort

He’s nothing special, but the metrics say he’s much better than his detractors say he is. Forbort on the other hand…

They both need to go but not til the offseason.
