im completely out of my depth here in trying to figure out what kind of trade leverage nashville has over ottawa in this scenario, but if you tell me i can get filip forsberg for 8x12 id probably be willing to give up a lot to make that happen

Id ideally want to protect the pick but i have no idea what kind of ballpark im even in here

Additional Details:
i think adding a goalie on a 2 way contract is something to look at if theyre rolling with gusavsson and forsberg. Not sure if dipietro is even avaliable or what hed cost but could be a decent addintion

Forsberg is good, but not that good… that contract is insane.

What a way to ruin your team. Overpay a Forsberg in $$$ and term. Ridiculous to spend a first rounder on him also.
Sens are in great position with cap space, to sign guys who want to play for the Sens and not overpay. Teams are cap strapped....heck get Fiala from Minni, cheaper

Getting a 28 year Forsberg on a 8 year deal? Shades of Erik Karlsson. I'm a believer in signing guys who want to play for your team, not guys who only want to play for your team for the money.
Heck Matthew Tkzachuk might be a UFA in 2023...

Forsberg has a 21.4% shooting percentage this season, he's a career 12.1% prior to this season, it's unsustainable.

He has 131 SOG

21.4% - 28 goals
12.1% - 16 goals

He has 12 more goals than his uaual shooting percentage would create

Are you paying $12MM for 16G 21A in 44 games?

I agree with all the above comments on Filip Forsberg. Strangles the rebuild before we even get to see it peak.
We got Anton Forsberg off waivers. I don't see any GM offering him that deal and Ottawa shouldn't either.
Nick Paul is a solid bottom 6 guy, but on a 5 year deal that $$ need to be closer to $2M. I'd go as high as $2.5 on a 4 year deal with zero trade conditions. Otherwise, move him now.

Forsberg should at max be around 9M a year. If that pick is unprotected, I’d be interested as a Nashville fan. If the pick isn’t, then I lose interest because our core rhd group is young and I view a potential top 5 pick as the main return

Honestly, I might be happier with a protected pick. Since OTT's 2022 pick will very likely be top 5, that would give NSH an unprotected 2023 1st from the Sens. 2023 is supposed to be a much better draft, and even with Forsberg, I think OTT would still be a lottery team,
