Bruins Want To Win Now

Created by: koofyslappa
Team: 2021-22 Boston Bruins
Initial Creation Date: Mar. 10, 2022
Published: Mar. 11, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Bruins Go All In

They add more defensive depth, get rid of Debrusk and prepare for a deep playoff run.

I think that these trades are relatively fair, but many may disagree on the Chychrun one just because the Bruins don't have much to offer compared to other teams.

Let me know your thoughts.

The only prospect Boston has that can be slightly considered a top prospect is Lysell

Chychrun is going to cost more than that. Another first would make it possible.

Miller should get a 2nd, whether it will take retention to get that return or not is unknown to me

Obviously Senyshyn has little or no value.
True the Sabres do not need LHD but Reilly and a third for Miller (without retention) is a fair talent exchange.
Reilly SV% 5v5 is better than McAvoy 0.924 v 0.913 and his CF% is only a tad behind Charlie's 55.4 v 56.7
If the Sabres retained some of Reilly's salary, they may be able to fetch a second for him.
That would make the total return for Miller a 2nd and 3rd.
I think I would make the trade and swing a trade to move Reilly with retention.

I agree that package doesn't get you Chychrun, but Lohrei is a top prospect. He has more points than Owen Power in the NCAA and is also nominated for the best defenseman in the NCAA.

You'd be lucky to fetch a second, he probably fetches a third.

By that logic Henry Thurn, Ducks 4th rounder in 2019 is a top prospect, he also out scored power and is nominated for best defensive defenseman in the NCAA

I think it's tough to assume a second here. I think it's pretty easy to get left d, as long as you aren't looking for an all star.

Yes, you're correct it does. Just because he was drafted in the fourth round doesn't mean he's not a top prospect. You'd have to look at what team he plays for as well and who he plays with. If you look at Power he plays with several first-round talents, so maybe he isn't as good as people say he is either.
