Stab at Giroux Deal And He Returns

Created by: bluspy88

Description
Hypothetical where Giroux returns after the trade. I think its not likely, but its more possible than some other deals given his reticence to be moved so far. Lets also assume the team would take him back, and that this is the Flyers' "aggressive retool" Fletcher wants to do. I disagree with that strategy, but I want to try to make moves that seem like what he could do. Exception is the Hayes one, this is just an idea spitballed by NRD and some others about IF Hayes wanted to move, what sort of locations would work.

  1. Barron, Justin
  2. Jost, Tyson
  3. 2023 1st round pick (COL)
COL
Giroux 50% at TDL, likely someone else retains for another lower pick after Manson move if Landeskog isn't LTIRed.
    2.
    PHI
    1. 2022 3rd round pick (BOS)
    OTT
    1. van Riemsdyk, James
    Additional Details:
Draft day move, winger for Stutzle for one year.
    3.
    PHI
    1. Vilardi, Gabriel [RFA Rights]
    2. Wagner, Austin
    3. 2023 2nd round pick (LAK)
    Additional Details:
His name has been in a lot of rumors, I wonder if he's sort of lost a spot in the organization after getting Byfield.
    LAK
    1. Konecny, Travis
    2. 2023 4th round pick (PHI)
    Additional Details:
I think the Flyers have soured on Konecny a bit, and LA has been looking to add younger-ish guys like Chychrun. TK is similar to Arvidsson in some ways. Other locations possible.
    4.
    PHI
    1. Haula, Erik
    2. Moore, John
    Additional Details:
Flyers don't get much value here, but a player who can play in Haula, and Moore as depth/dump.
    BOS
    1. Hayes, Kevin ($2,000,000 retained)
    2. 2022 3rd round pick (BOS)
    Additional Details:
If Bergeron retires or starts to drop, some insurance. One of the few teams I could see him waiving for. Reminds me of Ekman Larsson trade in some ways.

Barron is not being traded. How about Behrens, Ranta or Kaut, and a 1st?

I agree its less likely Barron is going, but those three are absolutey a downgrade and I don't think they settle for that.

Sens have a better LW for Stützle already. His name is Alex Formenton and he has racecars for feet. They need an impact RW to play on that line, and JVR ain't that

As a Bruins fan, I like the idea of acquiring Hayes. The only thing that troubles me is his contract.

Giroux is nice but the Avs really don't need a lot for another forward. Besides if Colorado is the only team that Giroux will waive too, Avs, don't have to give up so much. If long time Flyer Giroux wants a Cup run, do you really think the Flyers will deny him, especially if they want to resign this summer?

Avs do need another forward didn't 92 just have knee surgery? Even if Giroux says he will only go to the Avs that might take a bit of leverage away from Flyers but not too much if Edmonton, Calgary, St Louis start loading up for playoffs and Vegas starts to get healthy. Now they've given up a couple of assets with the Manson trade. Avs don't have a first or second in 2022 draft and Fletcher should get fired if he let's Giroux go for any combination of draft busts like Kaut, Bowers and Yost. I think I would have been ok with Helleson coming back to Flyers with a pick(s) but he is now gone and I have no idea how good Olausson or Behrens are maybe one of those guys in a deal might work. I'm sure Flyers goal is to get Barrons.
