Five guys who are hitting on all cylinders no doubt, but back out one and its a different story. Be a shame if one got hurt going into the playoffs. But that's why GM of the year Drury made those great off-season moves.

I feel like his offseason moves were trash. The Buchnevich trade was Terrible. Kreider is having a decent year but it is no where near as good as Panarin. I say Panarin and fox because they are top players in the league that is something the devils need that they will hopefully one day get from Jack hughes

As a Devs fan Gorton scared me with his decent moves (hurt us twice at least- Miller and Schneider!), Drury, TBD. He was dealt good cards and can only blow his hand if he does something dumb. They have a lot of $ right now, but that changes. Gotta follow what Sakic is doing chips in!

Hughes in on pace for 95 points over an 82 game season and is > 95% in TDH's WAR model. Would you not argue that he's /already/ a top player??

By current GSVA pace (from the Athletic), Jack would be your best skater.

Agree, I was jealous when they had Gorton, he did such a great job rebuilding the team in around 3- years they fired him that was dumb, buch trade us especially bad

He is great but he is not on the same level as Panarin yet and Fox is a top defensman in the league the devils don’t even have a team #1 D-man Severson is good but not there yet and Hamilton hasn’t come close to living up to his signing

Fox GSVA pace: 2.7
Hughes GSVA / point pace: 3.2 / 3.56

He is on the same level by almost any metric that isn't "raw point totals"

Re Dougie and Severson, sure. Dougie is looking like his former self after apparently struggling with an LBI before breaking his jaw, however.

If Dougie’s former self was extremely lazy play, shooting into shin pads that are right In front of you, and creating odd man rushes than why did they give him 9 mil a year, or is it that his old self was a top Norris contending D and he got paid and decided he didn’t have to try any more
