On behalf of Leafs no way are we taking on Webber's contact. It doesn't matter that it will go on to LTIR it's still a ugly contract.

You clearly dont know how his contract is broken down. Its not something Leafs should do because they get nothing out of him, but his contract is actually gold for anyone trying to reach the cap floor.

yeah, Weber's LTIR doesnt help the leafs, they arnt paying that for MAF or Gio and good lord it's been like a month now, stop trading the kid with a brain tumour

I get how helpful it can be to a team to get to the cap floor, but it is not helpful to a team who is maxed out. The Webber contact is a hard pass for the leafs.

Or to exceed the cap by his cap hit. The ONLY issue might come from the league as they are already trying to force Weber into fully retiring instead of just LTIR but that really only affects the Preds, unless the acquiring team has exceeded the cap then they have to move players.

The Webber contract does not help them- getting a guy for ltir does not "buy you cap space". You boys that spend time on capfriendly should know better.
