If Detroit still has a retention slot open on Monday they will accept this.

It also seems like more a future considerations trade at this point. Even if there is the ability to retain some of the salary for Washington.

Or they can draft 2 players with those 2 picks. There a lot of very interesting prospect between the 20th ans 40th pick (Luneau, Del Bel Belluz, Gaucher, Cutter Gauthier, Ryan Chesley ( might not be available anymore), David Goyette, Adam Ingram) of Montreal can get a hold of 2 of those players i would be more then thrilled.

I know.. i know...that's why a team will accept such trade but i mean lets say they see at 12-15 a player they really like they're in a good spot to move up

I don’t think any team holding a pick in the first 15 trading away that pick for a 25th over pick and a early second. Usually it cost a lot just to move up 3-4 spot. Plus you need a team that is willing to gave that pick up. Draft is like thw lottery the more you hold pick the better your chance of winning the jackpot increases.

The same reason why you say we better hold on to the extra pick other teams will agree to trade it, and moving 3 spots costed arizona the 45th pick in the 2019 draft

I never said they should move that pick, especially if you just get Samsonov back. Montembeault have similar number with a terrible team. Unless
We trading it for a young players or prospect with real potential i wouldn’t move it. But i like the direction that Hugues and Gorton are headed so ill put my confident in them.

Depending on who the other 2 retention slots go to. One assumes Leddy is the 2nd not sure if Namestnkikov of Greiss are the 3rd one. We'd gladly accept this offer.
