How does Ken Holland miss on this guy

Created by: DripBayless
Team: 2021-22 Edmonton Oilers
Initial Creation Date: Mar. 21, 2022
Published: Mar. 21, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Had he acquired Kahkonen, I would've given him a B. Don't tell me the money wouldn't work. Send Smith down, and have this guy up.

We could've paid a bottom pair dman and a 5th rounder too

Maybe the Wild don’t want to give a playoff team a G.

Would much rather pay the 2nd rounder on this guy than Kulak. I'm just saying we could've definitely paid the price and a bit more.

Yea that's probably the only logical reason. But I mean if we had paid a 2nd rounder, I think they woulda looked at that

Your bottom pair D-Man should have been out of the NHL 5 years ago (Russell) and your next one is making $5.3 million this year and next, so makes sense why Minnesota would have said no. I can see why you'd be eager to trade a bottom pair guy though since you have 3 of them in Russell, Ceci, and Keith.

OR. The Oilers bottom pair dmen are total trash? Russel Ceci and Keith are barely NHL quality? All of them cost at least twice as much as Middleton? Honestly, the answers are right in front of you.

it didn't have to be for a bottom pair dman, it could have been for a forward or just picks or something

and Russel is fine as bottom pair dman, he literally has the most blocked shots NHL history

Ceci has been good this year and Keith has been fine

Oilers have 2nd round picks, prospects, etc. etc. I never said for them to take our bottom pair dmen back. Kahkonen makes league min. We coulda fit him in somehow

We will probably trade Reimer or Hill in the offseason and Oilers should be in as they are so cheap

How did Holland not grab Larsson instead of Brassard, they could really use a defensive bottom six center like Larsson
more then whatever Brassard is at this point.

Hill will be available. Same age as Kahkonen, similar potential.
