Bruins would have to give up a lot more for Fiala and if he's willing to sign that then we won't have to trade him.

That's not nearly enough value for Fiala and he would be moved for cap relief. Not 6 million dollars of mediocrity

Yeah, no. Wild aren't adding here or moving fiala for trash and cap dumps

I don’t think Boston has the resources needed to acquire fiala from Minnesota this offseason.

Fiala deal is just not good. He's going to get more than 6x$6M, first off, so that's off.

The package is also really bad:
-Debrusk isn't a terrible place to start, although I think Minnesota wants a player with a lower cap hit going back if they have to move Fiala.

-Ahcan is a 24 year old, undrafted, 5'9" D. He's not a prospect by any stretch of the imagination. Gotta put someone that's *at least* on the Studnicka/Lohrei level here instead.

-Foligno is basically a cap dump, even if you have Boston retaining that $1.8M. All it really does is ensure dollar-in, dollar-out($6M given to Fialia, $6M in Debrusk/Foligno going out). If Minnesota is moving Fiala, it's because they don't have the cap space to pay him - so having the same amount of cap hit come back in does absolutely nothing for them.

-It's gotta be a 1st, or at least a 2nd. If you want to swap this year's 5th for next year's 4th, that's something you do as a stand-alone deal on draft day. Minnesota gets a real pick here, not a pick swap that moves them up 25ish spots.

Heard that same argument all season long yet they landed one of the biggest fish giving up only 1 1st and no prospect, leaving plenty still left. So you’d be incredibly wrong.

They just are not going to do it. Why move assets when free agency will fill the needs. They’d happily do the above. But that is not realistic. They are not going to move the pieces that it would take to make it work.

Fiala is not a RW anyway.

Lot of reasons why that trade is rejected by Minny. But Achan is not one of them.

Krug was 5’9 and undrafted. Imagine using that as an excuse years ago. Would have looked pretty silly a few years later.

There are guys taken in the top 10 that bust. There are undrafted guys who become valuable assets.

Achan very much looks the part of an NHL caliber d man. Until he stands next to somebody and the you wonder how a 12 year old got out there.

He is more physical and better defender than Krug was. Not afraid to go into corners or along the boards. He’ll likely never be a 50 point guy like Krug was. But how many are.

The big difference between Krug and Ahcan is that Krug forced the Bruins to put him in the lineup, and had 160 games under his belt by the time he was Ahcan's age. I'm not saying he can't find a place in the NHL, but including him in a trade as a "prospect" is an incredible stretch.

Depth charts matter. Big diffenrce between playing a guy out of necessity v being buried behind 6 guys too.

Most Bs fans have been so impressed by him so far, some are ready to send Grizz packing and have him replace him. And Bs fans adore Grizz. 🤷🏻‍♂️

You are the only one labeling him a prospect. Nobody else sees him that way. He’s past that point.

And again you are the only one throwing the term prospect around. 🤷🏻‍♂️

many people with half a brain would take your description of a guy with 8 NHL games as "an NHL caliber d man" who's a "better defender than Torey Krug(!!!)" as you calling him a prospect, but i guess you have a special word that none of us know that you would use to describe a player like that

There is a term everyone uses: rookie. 🤷🏻‍♂️

didn't realize that all rookies are better defenders than Torey Krug

have fun splitting hairs down to their most minute threads, i guess, doesn't change the fact that Ahcan has minimal trade value and OP's offer is laughably bad

The OPs offer is laughably bad. I said as much.

Achan is a better defensively than Krug was at that age. 🤷🏻‍♂️
