All pointless trades except for the Dallas trade which they probably don't do. Plus one real awful trade. Why on earth would they Jets overpay that much for a breaking down Toews?

Detroit declines.

Detroit need veteran help on LD, we have enough of youngsters on that position.

I'm open to Toews with retention, but we'd need to get rid of the Wheeler contract, and I'd prefer to keep Demelo because he's the best partner Morrissey has had since Trouba.

Stars decline, no team is paying more than a 3rd for Schmidt. That was his return for the past 2 years, and he hasn’t gotten better.

All teams say no besides CHI. Why are we moving Chibrikov for an aging pending UFA toews?

Honestly move Schmidt to DET as they need veteran LD help and Schmidt would be an awesome mentor for those guys.

DeMelo can be moved, but for a 2nd at most. He’s not worth a 1st.

Just use toews cap hit and the remaining space to go out and acquire a real top 6 winger or top 4 dman.

demelo to me could be worth a first if a team is in need of a RD like him. but not a 2023 1st. that draft is going to be stacked...

I absolutely love this. If teows is willing to waive, bring him in. He might even sign and be a high end 3C, giving us Elite centre depth. Love it. Absolutely love it.

Considering we have the cap space, I’d drop the gudbranson signing and keep demelo for now.

Instead I would try loading up by bringing in a big top 4 rd.

The only problem is finding a top RD. Im ok with either Demelo or Gud. My thought is that if we can get a first, who knows, for Demelo, why not. Provides a big guy to play with Heinola.

As for this lineup, we dont have a stud Dman but a solid 6 imo. We have three scoring lines and one shutdown line. We know need a coach who can kick Schiefele's butt to play a better 2 way game

Agreed. I would look at Johnson in colorado if I’m the jets. He would be a very good guy to play o the 3rd pair next to heinola temporarily. However, we will still need to pick up a top rd with size. I truly believe we need that to compete.

For big top 4 rd, severson comes to mind. Tbh, not many options out there. The jets should really try to draft one this year.
