I guess Goose is staying

Description
This really confuses me. Goose at 2 by 2 isn’t a deal the the way he’s been playing and all it does is road block Addison. And for those that think this is a precursor to a Dumba dump to re-sign Fiala, I would point you to the fact that neither Goose or Addison are currently more than a 4 at best and the signing actually makes it harder to sign Fiala being that it’s a mil more than what Addison makes.

Maybe the plan is to trade both Fiala and Dumba for futures

I actually think this makes an Addison trade more likely. They are both offensive 3rd pair guys ATM that can play PP2. Goose is now making a mil more than Addison so it sure looks like BG has made that decision.

I think it’s reasonable to think Fiala and Dumba could both go but neither Goose or Addison can replace Dumba and I really don’t think he’s got that much value on the open market given how long his name has been out there. It’s just a very odd choice to make right now.

I get the impression this is for kulikov to get traded. He’s not doing much more than Merrill at half the price.

Yes, but I’ve liked Kuli’s play. I know he makes about a mil more but it’s still just odd. Why now, what for?

He could be a key piece in a Chychrun deal, who does make sense for MN. Addison, a 1st, and another piece or two probably does it. I think you could also get a guy the caliber of Turcs. I.e. young top 6 forward drafted in 18/19 and is ready to drop in.

Some wild fan on Twitter told me he would only trade Fiala for Sanderson. He wouldn’t even trade him for Pinto and a 1st . Lol

The free agent market this off season sucks on d so to resign a guy who plays 17 minutes a night and can play both sides for 2 million isn't a terrible option.

Man, my dream is that we get Pinto and a 1st for him. Stutzle’s emergence up the middle and Pinto’s injury this year makes that much more reasonable than last offseason.

I wanna get Pinto on my jersey so I hope not . Just waiting till end of off-season and hopefully he doesn’t get traded before I put him on

This is correct. But we have a guy that *could* replace what Goose brings for less and this takes room from possibly resigning Middleton. In a vacuum this is a fine move but not in the Wild’s circumstance. With this signing and the addition of Jost, they’ve added 3 mil.

He’s just so good defensively and insane IQ. From the moment he stepped in, the team looked so different

Fought MacKinnon and now hes out because he hurt his hand

So Colorado is now without Landeskog, McKinnon, and Girard. Not good

I know this is tongue in cheek, but just for fun, if the 8 teams behind them in the playoffs all won every single one of their games from here on out (definitely mathematically impossible as they'll be playing each other), Colorado could go 7-9 and still make it.

Even if all of those teams had a .750 P%, Colorado would only have to go 2-13-1
