The reason I didn't do 1 for 1 is cause I don't think pens can afford Kerfoot's cap. I do think he should get a return like that considering the market this year. He's about to break the 50 point mark in a few games so he for sure gets something like that.
I guess it depends on how many UFAs come back for the Pens. They have a lot of cap coming off the books in the summer, and their only RFAs of note are Kapanen and Heinen. I can't see either of those two breaking the bank.

A guy that’s versatile and can play any position in the forward group in the lineup, is on pace for 55 points and getting no power play time at all (averages 4 seconds of PP time this season), kills penalties and only makes $3.5m against the cap and is only owed $750k after his $1.95m signing bonus is paid.. isn’t worth a 2nd and 4th round pick? Like Johan Larsson was just moved for a 3rd round pick and is no where near the player or value Kerfoot is.
Like come on. This comment was just pure Leafs hate than anything real talk.
I could see Kerfoot getting a 2nd, given his turnaround season. Or a 3rd and a 5th, if TOR really wants two picks in the return. Larsson got a 3rd at the deadline, not in the off-season - there's a big difference there. It's also worth mentioning ARZ had to retain 50% on Larsson for that return.
I see Jarnrkok as a closer comparable to Kerfoot. They're both 3rd liners who can fill in higher up the roster in a pinch, and both play all three forward positions. Kerfoot can bring a touch more offense, but Jarnkrok is better defensively. Kerfoot's a little younger, but Jarnrkok has been more consistent throughout his career. Jarnrkok went for a 2nd, 3rd, & 7th, so slightly more than
@EEEEE15 wants for Kerfoot, but that's with CGY paying a trade deadline premium, and SEA retaining a million on Jarnrkok's already team-friendly cap hit of $2M. Yet the general consensus is that SEA made out like bandits.
If someone offers a 2nd and a 4th for Kerfoot in the summer, TOR should jump on that. Honestly though, he seems to have more value to the Leafs on the ice, than he could bring them in a trade for futures.
Don't automatically assume anything remotely critical regarding the Leafs is biased hatred against them. I honestly don't care about the Leafs one way or the other enough to hate them.
