Devils aren’t giving up a top 5 pick for Garland and Myers

If you want a top 5 pick you'll have to do better than a (great, admittedly) middle 6 player and a replacement level defender at 6M AAV

Red Wings decline. Not giving up a top 10 pick this season. I like Miller but I'd rather keep the assets and sign Trochek or Copp in UFA. DiPietro is a good goalie prospect but we're buying time until Cossa is ready.

I will say, Myers has been way better this season.

Still though, a top 5 pick in return is absolute robbery for the Canucks.

I'm pretty sure every advanced metric still hates him, even if he's been better.

Based on similar choices made in both Van and SJ, I figured it fit in with their direction. 50% retain but that's fair if not a fit for SJ.

It's a pretty easy pass, actually. Not even remotely interested.

What would be asking price from NJ for Miller? Would Foote and 2022 1st be good?

Sharks have Barabanov who has 4 more points in 6 less games and is two years younger. They don’t need to spend a pick on another winger that doesn’t score much.

Fair enough. Pearson adds depth and can play up and down the lineup. He adds another dimension than just goals.

I'd say there would need to be another piece. Maybe a mid round pick but would be tough to pass on a top 5 pick. I'm not sure what Foote would become down the road.

Still a decent prospect. Only second pro year, has been fairly productive both years. Has good size; biggest thing he needs to improve on is scoring
