Created by: Cory
Team: 2022-23 Winnipeg Jets
Initial Creation Date: Apr. 7, 2022
Published: Apr. 7, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Every one on the team with a title of coach needs to go. This team is awful and needs to make moves. At this point maybe Chevy needs to move on as well. Get Torts in as coach and get the work ethic back into this team. Last night against the Wings was embaressing.

I hear what you are saying. They definitely need a new voice and someone who can relate to the "kids". I feel like Schmidt has a better contract and is more talented than Morrissey. Schmidt has hit his ceiling, but i feel like so has Morrissey, even though he is still young. I don't ever watch him and say, that was a good play. He is simply just there.

I get what you’re saying as well. Schmidt has less term and is being paid less. Schmidt definitely isn’t getting any better and is much older than Morrissey. I honestly feel like both of them are sort of “just there.” The jets don’t have a stud defenseman. Morrissey will be harder to move than Schmidt just due to his contract so I think it’s a bit easier to move Schmidt.

I feel like a younger coach like a Vincent would be better than someone like a sutter. The jets aren’t built to play a rough and tough defensive game. They’re built to play a strong team game while being fast in transition. They need a new GM as well. Bring in some new management and coaching that have similar ideas as to where the team is going so you can build to that.

Jets fold like cheap lawn chairs when the times get tough. They need new leadership and new coaching. Too much catering to players likings. It’s a major issue. But it’s pretty rich hearing this from a leafs fan 🥴

I just don't see Buffalo trying to fast forward their rebuild like that. I think they're committed to building around those young guys.
I just think if the jets trade Schief, it'll be to a different team

If Cozen was removed completely. would that make sense, or the value still too much based on Scheifele's contract?

Please stop. We aren't giving up assets for a 30 year old center

That makes no sense for Buffalo, really hope their GM isn't planning on making any moves like that.

No idea what direction the Hawks plan on going.

I'd get a new head coach, keep Flaherty and maybe Kompon, and hire two new assistant coaches.

Thank you for the double correction hahaha. I was mainly just pointing out he’s under 30.

Unless Kompon is fully committed to taking on a whole new system with a new HC, you have to let him go. I like flaherty though.

That's fair. I also should have added that it should also be the new HC who makes the call on the staff, as opposed to when Maurice was hired where he inherited the staff.

They need a full change of coaching staff. HC has to decide.

I agree 100%. It is just so frustrating watching this team. Conner, Scheifele, Dubois, Ehlers, Wheeler, Stastny, Helle this team is stacked. This team is missing something and i don't quite know what it is. I was at the game yesterday and it was so bad. The Jets have a way of making bad goalies look really good way too often.

They're not that stacked though, think you maybe bought into the undeserved hype this team got from a lot of the local media, Wheeler may be at a ppg but neither he or Stastny are top six talents anymore, the defense while decent and much improved over the last couple seasons has DeMelo as a top pair dman, no offense to him but in no world is he a top pair dman and then there's the huge yet seldom discussed issue of how useless the Jets bottom six is.
