Initial Creation Date: Apr. 22, 2022
Published: Apr. 22, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Making cap space, then monetizing it to gain draft capital
also moving all the guys off of LTIR
for any of those wondering, with them all on we are at $70,114,167

I think that this is along the lines of what the nucks will look to do in the off season, let me know where I should be adding value, be that contract or trade

thanks

The Jets don't have the cap space to waste that much on a replacement level player.

I like it, which probably means other teams dont. Agree with other people than we probably dont get a 4h for Dick but it's not that big of a deal tbh

Probably not going to get a 4th, might even have to buy him out or bury him, but dont lose hope, the sens gave us a 3rd for hamonic

TB only has 3RD With NHL experience sigmed for next year so Very Little chance 1
Is traded.

TB doesn't trade defenseman away without getting one back Either
TB passes quite easily

does someone interest you on our blueline on the right side?
I was also thinking that TBL would bolster their RD in the off season with a guy like manson

That’s like twice as much as you’ll get for Miller, and the Sens aren’t the team that are gonna be paying for him.

Oh, we're getting at least a 4th for Dickinson or we don't move him. Guy still has bounce back potential

i'd keep the 2nd round pick in this draft considering how deep it is, I wouldn't give up on Dickinson yet he could still be useful, we'd have to take some salary back from Dallas if they wanted Myers, and i'd rather get a cheaper option like Domi rather than go out and spend 5 mill on Rakell

Bottom 10-30% so he is better than a fringe player but with a market value of $100k compared to a $2.7 million salary, he is overpaid relative to production. Jets can't afford that cap inefficiency as they have enough of that. They need some offensive production out of their 4th line, and that happens to be Dickinson's weak point.

No question he looks overpaid based on the season he's had, I'm not trying to argue that, and you're right, the Jet's can't afford to take that kind of financial risk. I'm just saying that if the Canucks move him, they ain't going to dump him for nothing or pay to do so

Honestly value-wise, Sens would say yes but as you allude to, I just don't think he fits the timeline. Sens are trying to get better through trades, but they should only be looking at younger guys with team control in their contracts who can grow around the young core as they develop. Miller just doesn't fit the bill, as much as he's obviously an absolutely sick player.

I think he'd want to chase a cup if he waived for colorado, and if they dont, win I think TBL would pursue him

I wanted rakell because when hes placed in the right situation he can out perform his contract, you look at the guys who he was with in anaheim for the last 3 years and then the guys who hes with in pitt and the difference is evident, not that the guys in ana wont be good, its just that they arent geno and sid
