Wild cap hell year 1 take 3

Description
Maybe this is the minimalist/preservation version. In this one Guerin approaches the offseason attempting to preserve as much as possible. Sort of shows the cap hell they are in that it would require them to dump a player that just broke the franchise season assists record. And Dumba would be no surprise, but think two 2s is a pretty modest trade value. They keep the GREEF line for another year. They would keep Fiala and move into the future with 97 & 22 as the core, and then hope that Boldy and Rossi complement that topline scoring. And they keep that goalie tandem imagining that Fleury buys in and wants to finish his career in a Christmas sweater.

I really don't know if the teams or pick compensation is credible...but that isn't really the point, this was an attempted to just crush players into the cap without major trades/changes.

Zuccarello getting traded would piss off kaprizov as even Russo has mentioned. He also has an nmc.

Probably right that zuccarello won't be traded...but something has to give and if you make decent money and/or you're on the wrong side of 30 you find yourself an easy target to get traded. The buyouts are going to rip out a chunk of what is a really fun team to watch. With each passing game losing Fiala seems a non starter. Dumba alone leaving won't be enough cap room.

They are amazing together. No doubt. No idea how Guerin is going to navigate this.

No, players with even a M NTC in a cap strapped league aren't easy trades to make....really impossible, if you don't expect any cap returned in a trade. So easy for a player to make his trade list so he won't be traded.

I know. Russo has stated quite clearly that Fiala is gone in the offseason. But I don't know how you trade a 25 year old top 25 scorer in the league who is clearly ascending. And Russo also didn't have any idea that Goligoski was going to get extended....so just saying I dig that guy, and he is plugged in, but there are still some surprises at times.

The value for Dumba is right but Los Angeles doesn't need to add a RD to Doughty, Roy, Walker, Durzi and Spence. Try next door.
