NOTE: For this I do not have Shane Wright playing in the NHL this season. It would be much better for Wright to get a full year in OHL and develop his game more. Seen it with Jack Hughes and Lafreniere where they struggle out of the gate adjusting to the NHL level. Being on a not so good Arizona team and being relied upon to provide a lot of the offense at just 18 is a recipe for disaster. Let him get even better in the OHL and next year when the team should hopefully be better he can provide much more of an impact.

I kinda like that NYI trade? Fair value all around for everyone and clears up cap to still make more moves and not have to just push Varlamov out the door if they don't want to. Holmstrom looks like a man without a country in the Isles organization and would probably benefit from going somewhere he can just play. Panik is a good asset to flip because he's already retained - Arizona can let him play regularly and see if they can flip him at TDL next season. Bailey comes in and mentors this incredibly young team and puts up good numbers for a couple years while being the type of contract the Coyotes love - he's a $5M cap hit for the next 2 years but only gets paid $3.5M. The pick is fine because it seems like the Isles will get back their 2023 3rd from the Ladd contract dump.

Ritchie return might be a bit of a stretch - Nashville has some cap room so I don't think they have to get aggressive about moving out money. Myers wouldn't be a bad guy to target if they want to move him out, though.

I could see Carolina jumping at that but I have no read on the Gardiner situation - is he LTIRetired or does he plan on coming back? If he wants to play again, he might use his NTC to block this one.

Khubodin is a fine swing to take, see if he can mentor a guy like Vejmelka into being a solid 1B.

I think Holl has some positive value and Toronto might be able to get a mid-round pick back for him. He's a decent bottom pair guy who's only making $2M - I know the Leafs need to move that because they're tight against the cap, but he's not overpaid on that number and someone might take a swing on that.

Carcone is a decent gamble for Colorado to take. The likelihood that they get anything else that could help them next year with that 6th rounder is slim, so they get a depth guy they can use for a team that's in Win-Now mode.

Ritchie has come a long way from requiring assets to "dump" his contract to getting value back in a trade.

Funny how things change when he isn't in a Leafs uniform.

Gardiner is LTIRetired, so I don’t think the Canes have much interest in moving his contract when he can just stay on LTIR. Fischer I do like, and he could be a good depth addition for the Canes. Gardiner might try to come back, but I doubt that he would pass a physical though. Would Fischer for a 4th and Bokk would out? Bokk is a former first round pick who really needs a change of scenery.

I doubt Arizona touches Dadanov. His salary will be 6.5 million next year. Arizona will want the real dollars to be short of the cap dollars. The more the better
