Well, that's probably it for this season. Very disappointing as this game, as with game 1, was very winnable. They were dominated for most of the 3rd and OT again. Tampa had more than a few good chances to break it open a bit in the 1st and 2nd, but failed. Special teams have killed them, as Tampa actually has won 5v5 scoring 10-9, but down 7-1 on power play goals. Tampa is 1-14 on the Pp against a team that was 75% on the pk coming in, just unacceptable. I guess we'll see if they have anything left on Friday, or if they just phone it in.

I guess we're still paying for our dominant overtime performances in 2020. We're 2 OT goals away from being up 3-1. I'm here until the end, but it doesn't look or feel good. Hopefully the officiating blunder lights a fire and carries us to three straight wins, but we'll have to see.

Can we just take a moment to appreciate how good of a run this team has had?
I'm never gonna count this team out. Three in a row? Maybe. But if it does end like this, have a look at how good the hockey we've watched for the last 4 years has been.

Then we enter a full season and we see the best season we've ever seen from future hall of famer Steven Stamkos. He was going to force himself into that Olympic squad. And when the Olympic dream was taken away from him, he played even harder!
Nick Paul comes in from nowhere. Ross Colton shows glimpses of a level we never thought he was capable of. Brian Elliot! Remember when we thought he might start in the playoffs? Injury, Leafs battle, this was their year. Their story. But nobody told Nick Paul. The Leafs were gonna be the team to take Tampa's mantle. Nope.
Then the panther we're finally going to assert their dominance. Nope.
Igor was going to stripe the crown from Vasy. I don't think so.

Then, we almost won game 1 after a poor start. Lost game 2 by a landslide but answered right back with Avengence. And despite being broken, bloody, and just straight wrecked we've pushed a team that it's working on its own story for every inch in game for only to come up short by a legendary back from injury story.
Sure they're against it. Sure they hurt. But it's been a good freaking run. Maybe....
