Try to make playoffs

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Edvinsson as first call up. Even Seider started in Grand Rapids. I believe there is better value on the trade market than in free agency on the left defense front. Trocheck or Strome as possible 2C candidates. Forsberg is same age as Larkin and adds a lot of firepower. Burakovsky, Copp, Palat, Rust, Rakell, etc. as backup options if we can't land him.

I have Trocheck on my AGMs too for 2nd C.

I was also wondering with all the WPG trades floating out there, how much Dubois would be in a trade, this is assuming Bertuzzi would be the main trade piece back.

Dubois for Bert / Bergeren / 2nd?

Forsberg will be re-signed by Nashville and if he isn't:
A. He'll get more than that
B. That max term he could with another club for, is 7 years

You may be right on the 7 years. I guess I was guilty of capfriendly lets me do it, so it must be allowed.
As for the amount. Thehockeywriters.com reports that he is looking for $8 million/year. I have seen guesses around 8.7-9.0 as well. I went in the middle. I doubt he gets Josi money. On a team with this much cap space, I don't think 0.2-0.5 sinks a deal. I also put five alternatives to sign for more firepower if Forsberg falls through.

I have seen multiple Jets Armchair GMs proposing a 4th. When I put out a 3rd I got negative feedback that it was too much. I would personally do it for a 2022 3rd. I would much rather have Pettersson than Schmidt given salaries, ages, etc.

Sundqvist, Erne, Suter, and Oesterle all come off at $9.45M plus $3.1M in unused space plus $1-2M in increased cap should give us $13-15M to give raises to Larkin and Bertuzzi, and promote some prospects and sign some depth to replace those four. I think it is doable. Say Larkin and Bertuzzi get a combined total of $8M more after next season, which wouldn't be low. That still leaves us $5-7 for four spots with two of them probably going to prospects like Soderblom, Edvinsson, Wallinder, Niederbach, Mazur, etc. at less than $1M each.

Even if it isn't enough, I think Pettersson, Schmidt, and Hronek are tradeable assets and we have a ton of good defense prospects that are 1-3 years away to take their spots (Edvinsson, Wallinder, Johansson, Viro, Sebrango, Tuomisto, Buium-I think two being ready after this season would be a reasonable expectation). I think we would be able to make moves to get back below the cap and it wouldn't be that hard.

Larkin and Forsberg aren't the same age, Larkin will be 26 on July 30th and Forsberg 28 on August 13th so Forsberg is nearly 2 years older than Larkin. Forsberg on the open market will command around $9,500,000 to $10,000 x 7 years that gets him in Nashville not Detroit. No thanks on Koskinen 1 would rather just resign Hellberg for much cheaper. Trocheck signing looks about right.
