Romanov gets more pitlick gets less Petry isn’t going to Seattle but wherever he goes it will be for way more than just a third

Just for discussion, because who knows, right?

I get the thought about Letang, and there's a part of it that makes sense, but I would just find it incredibly surprising that he'd leave a (reasonable) contender to go to the basement.

From the other end, I know Habs fans love the idea of a hometown boy showing up, but does it make sense from a timeline perspective? Like, if they're 2-3 years away, you've gotta expect Letang to be declining, right? I just look at it as a Ducks fan thinking "Great, you could trade for player X, but where does that fit the timeline?"

Can’t see him getting much without a significant cap dump going back the other way or at least 2 mill retention

I'm not a fan of selling low on Petry just to bring in Letang on a contract that'll expire at an older age than Petry's

Agreed. Romanov will either be 2-3x3M or 8x4.25M. I see Pitlick getting 2-3x2M. Petry will be worth a lot in a market like Detroit, Dallas or EDM (B Prospect + late 1st). Remember that Savard was worth a late 1st 2yrs ago

Pitlick's a flawed offensive bottom 6'er. Romanov is not getting payed less than him. Hell, Pitlick won't be paid more than Evans.

Yeah Petry isn't waiving to be 2,400 miles from his family in Detroit, Don't think so. Zero chance of Petry waiving for Seattle.
