Quoting: Burnout
Even the reporting out of Ottawa was that Montreal's interest in White was mostly speculative because Hughes was his agent. And you don't even need to look at the reporting of Montreal to know they have zero interest/ability to take on bad salary without sending at least as much bad salary back. We're on cap friendly after all. The idea that they'd pay a 3rd for White is laughable.
I agree that Montreal would have been stupid to take White's salary without shedding some. I mean, they already have several overpaid players with term.
But looking at it again, the only player that would have made a bit of sense for Ottawa is Jeff Petry.
Chabot - Zub
Sanderson - Petry
Holden - Thomson/JBD
Brannstrom could be then traded
But that doesn't solve Petry in Canada situation
Regarding forwards, the only 3 guys Sens could use are young, Montreal won't/shouldn't trade them (Suzuki, Caufield, Evans). No other forward makes sense.
I would tell you Drouin but the guy only played 50% of the games from the last 3 years! and is pretty poor in his overall game. Not the type the Sens want to add
Really can't see anyone else outside of guys who were ELCs this season.
