Yep. That was embarrassing. Blue line needs a lot of work. Don't like the idea of Malkin with his injury history and age, but enough is enough we need a damn 1C (probably have to draft one)

Special teams, depth scoring ironically, and defense killed us.

As a Jets fan I actually genuinely feel bad for Wild fans. They have been living with an average team for years now and u guys deserve better. I thought this would be the year they would win in the first round with this core but I guess not.

Special teams is up to the coaches to resolve in my mind, you can’t realistically tell me we don’t have the personnel to have a successful PK. Basically our entire offense outside of KK97 and JEEK completely missed the memo that we were in the playoffs. We need to prioritize Defensive Defenseman over Offensive Defenseman. It would also be cool to hear the reasoning behind Goligoski and Greenway being extended because they’re legitimately some of the worst players I’ve ever witnessed.

That’s Minnesota sports man, having great regular seasons and then choking in the playoffs is a ritual at this point.

Yea that’s probably frustrating. I definitely thought there play would translate solidly to the playoffs but now their depth has just dipped. Poor kaprizov man he can’t do everything.

Yeah it’s no fun but if we ever end up winning a cup it’ll be that much better. Outside of Kaprizov, EK, and Brodin, everyone else was either average or disappointing.

Going to Talbot game 6 over a 3 time cup champ was the wrong move, Middleton didn't add anything valuable to an already gritty team, it was a combination of bad moves and lineup changes. Now this team has 12 million in dead cap to deal with next season.

If you're going to over-react then trade Kaprizov along with everyone else. The next 3 years are cap hell and the team will only be worse.

PHI has ellis and risto on RD, you think PHI will pay the right side of their defense over 17mil?

Dumba has some value, but probably not to PHI. Greenway, Fiala, Kulikov, Foligno, Jost would be of interest but a 6mil UFA to be on RD, probably not

If Greenway was not 6’7” he would be a 3rd line AHL player. His puck control is not there. And shot and passing isn’t pretty. Goligoski at 1 mil per is something but 2 is still too rich for my blood. I think his versatility and experience is what Guerin liked.

The head coach is the main problem.
-Special teams have been an issues for 2 seasons now. It's not the personnel on the ice it's systematic problems.
-No adjustments to the lines when it's obvious things aren't working.
-Playing the 0gf/7ga Merrill pairing more than the "top pair" of 6gf/1ga Middleton/Spurgeon 5v5.
-Not pulling MAF in G5 to at least let Talbot get into game action before his G6 start.
-Just keep running the 4th line like normal even though they are out classed. Not swapping in Dewar and Bjugstad when Duhaime and D-Lo aren't adding anything.

Running 4th line centers in the top-6 is on the GM. It's been a problem that the GM hasn't fixed. They were exposed (again) by a team that had 4 centers that were better than 3 of MN's centers.
Another thing on the GM is, going into next season and having 3 6/7 d-men on the team with a combined cap hit of $5.45m.

Ottawa wouldn't do that as it would look bad on them, 1 year after drafting 10th OA
