Edmonton isn't giving up the equivalent of FOUR 1st round picks for Saros.

Yeah the Duchenne and Saros ones are pretty hopeful, but the other ones I feel better about.

Could this year’s first and Yamamoto work. Take out the rest. I realize now that that might be very much over the top.

Yeah, that's more reasonable for sure. I don't know where they'd find the cap space for Saros though...

Koskinen’s contract would be over and you don’t bring back kris Russell and then I think your good with the cap

No, they aren't. Russell makes next to nothing and Koskinen's money has already been spent on Darnell Nurse. Puljujarvi, Yamamoto and McLeod need new contracts (and raises). They have just $6.3M in cap space available and 7 roster spots to fill.

Boston has about $3.3 million in cap space (assuming no increase to the cap). This deal doesn't leave them any room to do anything else and actually puts them over the cap by about $2 million. There is also no way in hell I'm buying high on Duchene. The guy is coming off the best S% of his career, that was 45% higher than his average S% over the last 5 years.

Oh I forgot about the Hampus Lindholm extension. We could retain 4 mil but yeah makes the deal a lot less feasible. Duchene was great this year and I think with better players he could even improve, but I get that there is risk there.

no, Boston is not trading Lysell alone for Duchene. Also not trading Mast with a 1st rounder for a 32 year old. Give up a lot of future for maybe 1 decent year? Don't think so and not even looking at the cap.

The original trade was unrealistic, but this swings it back too far in EDM's favour. I don't see the value for NSH with this.
