Well this is at least more interesting than Holl for a 5th or Mrazek for anything from a sabres perspective so kudos on that

Flames don't need Muzzin and he wouldn't waive anyway

And then you have him on the 2nd pair. Say that's a big No from the Sabres. And for being Funny I offer sheet Liljegren. This can't be from a Leaf fan.

Minnesota declines. They have no room.

Move Dumba & some reserves. His contract is up next year anyways. Nylander's cap hit is 6.92, but you only have to pay him 6 as per his front loaded contract.

If Minnesota could afford a $7M winger they would just pay Fiala. This trade doesn’t make any sense with zero cap hit going to Toronto.

It appears that this post was modified.
Am I to presume the original trade had Dahlin for Nylander?
The post I am looking at has Jokiharju, 2023 2nd round pick (BUF) for Nylander!
While Dahlin has not been the game changing LHD we all expected, he will be next year or but certainly the following year.
Even though Buffalo only has one RHD signed for next year, Jokiharju, this trade is not nearly enough for Willie.
Dahlin for Willie, easy no, Jokiharju and 2023 2nd for Willie, sign me up.
Fitzgerald has truly stepped his game in the AHL playoffs, Pysyk has good advanced stats and maybe Miller would resign with Buffalo.
I could only dream of a second line with Olofsson and Willie Nylander.

Holl doesn't get you a 3rd. Sabres would be dumb not to do that. Muzzin could probably get a 2nd with that retention, but Detroit probably isn't a fit. You could probably do better packaging Hollowell and Holmberg with picks for a more substantial piece.

Nylander would be a good get, he's a positive possession player, decent on the PK, but as you said not Dahlin

Post is modified. Will be modified based on other fans analysis of their teams or overall league knowledge. Not pretending like I have the solutions.

Where could you see Muzzin going if leafs retained partial salary? Noted on Holl - 4th more realistic?

Well, there are teams he would actually waive for and teams that would trade for him. But I'd be willing to bet they don't overlap.

So a top 16/playoff bound team with cap space and a need for a 2nd-3rd line pairing for 2-3 mill (assuming leafs retain some salary to move)….
