Team: 2022-23 Montreal Canadiens
Initial Creation Date: May 26, 2022
Published: May 26, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
This is purely speculation about what if Fleury and Letang would accept coming to Mtl to finish off their career? Letang is a big fan and friend of Fleury, and spending on them isn't considered an issue if Price is still out for the season, or done all together. You get Fleury on a year to year contract to see if he still wants to play after next year, and you may get Letang to follow his buddy to come back to hometown and play for the Habs giving him the opportunity to prepare for the post-hockey life knowing RDS or TVA Sport will offer them contracts if they want to continue in the limelight after their hockey life is over. You then need to convince Rutta, Rodrigues and Vatrano to sign. Maybe Rutta will want an extra million, but I still have 2.4M in cap space, so you could give it to him.

My trades aren't over whelming, I'm getting a high 1st round for good players and giving back lots for the contract value...

you sign Brassard as a 4th liner, he can give you half a season and gives the opp to your younger guys to come in and try out..

Actually trying to make the case for that arizona trade is laugh out loud funny.

That arizona trade is, wow, that's something. Like you could not have picked a team that trade would make less sense for. They get literally nothing they need or want and give the habs all the stuff they actually need.
Just a full on disregard for the other team to get your team what you want

The Arizona trade doesn’t really make sense. If I’m NJ I’m not doing that unless pick 37 comes around and their guy isn’t on the board or they like who is projected to still be around in the 3rd.

This 2nd round can have a lot of guys graded as 1st rounders depending on the front office though, so my gut says no
