Engvall and a first for Hayton and some throwaway picks is such a bewilderingly foolish use of assets.

Scheifele and Wheeler are non starters for me. Winnipeg fans will come in here to say no as well.

Vancouver trade is great, unfortunately Bim Jenning was fired a long time ago so I doubt that'll be accepted on their side.

I'm pretty sure MTL would rather trade Weber and that FLA first for Hayton if ARI accepted this (spoiler alert: they won't).

If not we are still better off just trading Weber to the Yotes for a pick

I still don't see the point for ARI in doing that. Why pay for assets you can't use in any way? If it's about cap they definitely can fill it up to the minimum without spending a thing. There should be some other incentive, like when they acquired Smith while taking Little.

No from Winnipeg. The Jets aren't retaining that much on Wheeler and taking a rental and a soft, more expensive, less productive perimeter winger back in return for Scheifele.

About $12 million to go to get to the floor. Should be easy for Arizona as their roster is 17/23 players.

There is, Weber's contract is more valuable because his cap hit is 7.8 Mil but his actual paid salary is only 3 mil this year and 1 Mil the next 3 years. This allows them to get to the cap floor but actually spend less than the cap in real money. There aren't too many contracts out there that allow that, Even Little's contract was 4.75 mil AAV but so was his actual salary. So for a team who is looking to get to the cap floor, while spending as little in actual salary as possible because they won't have much gate revenues, that makes Weber's contract ideal for them.

The benefits are only about finances - which is not that big of an issue for them.

There's incentive to take him alongside package, but other than that it's practically non-existent.
