Trades
1.
MTL
  1. Zucker, Jason
  2. 2022 1st round pick (PIT)
  3. 2023 1st round pick (PIT)
Additional Details:
Price for Petry 50% retained is the 2022 1st. Price for taking Zucker and buying him out is a top 10 protected 2023 1st. Comparable to Marleau to CAR from TOR in 2019.
PIT
  1. Petry, Jeff ($3,125,000 retained)
  2. 2022 2nd round pick (EDM)
Additional Details:
PIT management trade for Petry (Letang replacement) as his contract aligns with both Crosby and Malkin ( This is assuming he gets a 3 year extension). That would give PIT 3 years for another cup run.
2.
MTL
  1. Texier, Alexandre
  2. 2022 1st round pick (CBJ)
CBJ
  1. Drouin, Jonathan ($2,750,000 retained)
  2. Dvorak, Christian
  3. 2022 1st round pick (CGY)
  4. 2022 1st round pick (PIT)
  5. 2022 3rd round pick (CAR)
Additional Details:
21+30 + middle 6 center = 12th OA

CBJ fan posted on my last thread that this would be a fair trade. Drouin 50% retained and a 3rd is added to get Texier in the trade as well.
3.
MTL
  1. 2022 2nd round pick (PHI)
ARI
  1. Weber, Shea
Additional Details:
Rumor was Weber for a 2nd.

  2. 2022 1st round pick (PHI)
PHI
  1. 2022 1st round pick (CBJ)
  2. 2022 2nd round pick (MTL)
Additional Details:
PHI fall 7 spots, pickup the MTL 2nd and get rid of JVR to take a run at signing Gaudreau.

That would be fine to lose the 2nd in 2023 to acquire him. I paid him $4.1M in my last post and was told VGK can't match a $2.1M so I tried it this time lol.

I think what danault signed as a RFA would be the perfect contract for him 3,083,333

Texier is not the kind of player you throw Drouin and a 3rd in to get. He'd cost an additional 1st at least. The Jackets are also not going to be trading quality for quantity as they already have 16 NHL ready forwards to figure out what to do with. If you want Texier and 12th OA it's going to be 1st OA that gets the conversation started.

No way Hextall trades 2 1st round picks to get rid of Zucker and for Petry nonetheless

I think we can all agree that Petry to Detroit makes the most sense since they seem to love him.

Yea that's not happening. Hextall isn't parting with 1 high-round pick, let alone 2 firsts to dump a contract with 1 year left.

Flyers aren’t dropping seven spots to dump JVR, his contract really isn’t that bad when he still is somewhat productive, even if he is overpayed

Idea is Flyers don't want to rebuild they want to compete now and want to offer whatever it takes to Gaudreau so they need the cap space asap. Not saying it's a smart move but saying in wanting to compete now they make the sacrifice of 7 spots to do it.

They can just dump JVR with like a 3rd or 4th though

It's gonna take more then a 3rd or 4th to dump a $7M cap hit player with a real cash payout of $5M.

I really don’t think so. He scored 20 goals last year and can be a productive third liner and power player scorer. His contract isn’t ideal but he still can be a solid depth scorer especially with retention
