Why would Vegas trade a great offensive, forechecking RFA for an LTIR spot?

Rangers aren't giving that up for a one year rental, And they don't have the cap space for Miller long term.

Easiest PASS in history from the Rangers. They do counteroffer Kevin Rooney for JT Miller with 50% reduction and 5 years of 1st round picks.

We can’t afford to extend Miller. Hence we resign Copp who will be cheaper to keep long term and doesn’t require us giving up any roster players or picks.

You weren't getting Braden Schneider for J. T. Miller. Now, given the playoffs he's had, you won't be getting Filip Chytil, either.

Were you unaware that the New Jersey pick is the second overall? You wouldn't get that with Booeser, Podkolzin and your own 2022 first.

Lol fantasy land with these trades. Connor Garland is worth that now? Vegas just gonna give away Roy for an LTIR player? Why would we do that? it only helps in the off-season and for teams trying to reach the cap floor. Stone had back surgery and is on LTIR so we have all the off-season cap we need.
