Just buy out Mrazek, its not worth us paying a 3rd for Abruzzese and taking the dump.

{sigh} Yet another Jake-Muzzin-back-to-Los-Angeles fantasy. Have we reached the thousandth-time level yet? We're looking for a top-level young LD with term like Jakob Chychrun, Ivan Provorov or Mikhail Sergachev, not an expensive veteran who has a poor injury history, and we don't need stopgaps because there are several cheap UFAs that won't cost us anything to sign or pay. And the idea that we would trade our second-best two-way forward for him is just nutso.

So you think i'm off. What do you think there price is?

And can there teams afford your price? Or will another team pay your price?

Well Mang will probably want near 6 mil, he just scored like 35 goals. Paul will probably get a big time contract, reports are that he wants long term at 3+ mil

-Calgary's top 4 is set with Hanifin, Andersson, Kylington, and Tanev. Kylington needs an RFA raise but he'll still come in cheaper than Brodie (plus, y'know, much younger). And they probably want to hang on to a goal scorer like Mangiapane if Johnny Gaudreau walks. (Also Mangiapane gets way more than $3M as an RFA - he's coming off a 35 goal season!)

-Muzzin to LA doesn't make sense, especially not at the cost of a useful middle 6 guy. Plus, if you were Jake Muzzin and you were playing for a perennial Cup contender only 90 minutes from where you grew up, are *you* waiving your NTC?

-Just buy Mrazek out, or at the very least don't ask Chicago for an asset back. You're paying to get rid of him, whether it's with Abruzzese or a pick. If that cost is too much, just eat the buyout penalty.

-I can't see Seattle giving up a 2nd for SDA. It's been reported that Seattle is open to moving picks for established players this summer, so they might not be in full prospect hoarding mode, but it doesn't make sense for them to trade a potential prospect in that 2nd rounder for a different, older prospect that hasn't broken through yet.

-No way Philly does this. Carter Hart has been inconsistent, yes, but is signed to a deal that is still affordable, with term, and has had success in his career - so he can bounce back. I can't see them flipping him out for a mid-round pick and a pending UFA, especially with absolutely nothing else in the system signed and ready to step into goal.

Nicholas Paul also most likely signs for more than 2x$2M - he put 14 points in 21 games after the trade to Tampa, and has 7 more points in 14 playoff games. I could see him easily breaking $3M AAV on a deal this summer after a strong two-way performance.

Monahan, Lucic, Backlund, Dube, Valimaki. Plenty of moves to be made before moving out Mangiapane, Gaudreau, Tkachuk. Even if they were to move MAngiapane do you really believe TJ Brodie is the way to go about that?
