No. Hell no. Strome, like his brother, is borderline useless without an All-Star playmaking winger. As much as we all love Laine, he is very not a playmaker.

He wouldn't be with Laine. He'd be with Bjorkstrand and Johnson, probably.

And he'd be dragging them down, badly. The guy can think the game well enough to be useful with someone else who draws all the attention and then gives him the puck, but even then he doesn't produce any more than someone like Jenner or Roz would - and he'd be demanding quite a bit more money than those guys. And his defensive ability makes Roz look like a two-way dynamo and Boone like a Selkie nominee. Just Say No to Strome brothers.

idk, his underlying numbers don't seem so terrible.

For my specific trade, Bems has no future on this team, and Foudy isn't far behind him, with how his development/ play time has been handled. We'd be moving two Fs who need to be on the NHL roster for one. Plus, I'm not going to lose sleep over a 3rd.

CHI gets mid-rounder, and rolls the dice on two young guys who could still turn into decent/ good NHL players if given the playing time. With KJ, Marchenko, Silly, and Chinny (all of whom are still waivers exempt, mind you unlike Bems and Foudy) already ahead of those guys on the prospect totem pole, I just don't think they'll have space for Foudy or Bems.

If you look carefully, you'll notice those numbers on defense are rather poor; he only makes up for it with offense, and when he's away from Kane it drops precipitously. And he's getting worse instead of better. And he costs too much regardless.

It's not that Foudy and/or Bemstrom are vital assets at this point; it's just that Strome is arguably a negative one.
