DeBrincat

Created by: MNHockey19
Team: 2022-23 Minnesota Wild
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 9, 2022
Published: Jun. 9, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I know this is not likely and this proposal is more just for fun to see the idea, but I wanted to mess with the idea. Seems as though this would be an alternative to just push the same fiala issue down the road for one more year but with DeBrincat instead

Yeah, DeBrincat is worth significantly more than Fiala. And why would Chicago make a trade to get older?

DeBrincat>Fiala, no disrespect but Fiala had a breakout year. Prior to that, meh. ADB on the other hand has averages 60 pts and has had 2 40 goal seasons.

DeBrincat >>> Fiala and the difference isn't a pick swap IMO

The difference is easily more than that. Not only do the Wild have way less leverage, Debrincat is younger, better, has a higher upside and isn't in need of contract immediately.

Also, if cat is moved the Hawks will be in full rebuff mode. Not a move you make in that scenario

Minny passes, You can't afford Fiala but you can afford DeBrincat. Don't think so,

I don’t think Debrincat is a better player. Could you imagine if Fiala had Patty Kane feeding him the puck? He would score 40 as well. Debrincat is younger and the team has more control. That’s what gives him more value.

I would say that his larger sample of elite play makes him the better player.

Although, I do think it's fair to say Fiala was better last year

Overall, I still stand by this not being something that makes much sense for Chicago

not trading debrincat without an overpay, not trading him within the conference without a bigger overpay, not trading him within the division without an even bigger overpay. Not trading him to Minny or STL without a huge overpay

Minnesota doesn’t want and can’t afford Debrincat so don’t you worry your pretty little face.
