Just to add...with no expiring contracts, no cap to resign DeBrincat or Barzel

Honestly? I think this is an overpay for DeBrincat and I still think Chicago declines.

Chych gets more than this - this is a solid middle 6 roster forward that doesn't fit their timeline, an LD prospect that the shine is off of, a 5th rounder playing above his head as an overager in juniors who needs to prove himself in the AHL, and a late 2nd. I can think of a half dozen teams that easily beat this deal.

Probably fair-ish value for Bailey, if a little overpay, but I don't think you can predict the destination at this point. Need to see how the first week of UFA settles before you know who'll have the need.

I personally like some of our youngsters. I think Beau in a move offensive system will have a real nice year. I really want to see Dufour and Boduc develop. I'm not willing to trade them. Boduc is a big defenseman and they take a little longer to develop. Dufour, **** after his year in the minors we could have a diamond in the rough. I have to see him in Bridgeport for a full year before I make any decision on him.

Nothing in the Detroit trade is worth a 2nd.

One of those 2nds should be enough for Varly.
Rather the Devils trade for one of Talbot, Allen or Vanecek otherwise.

the islanders have literally the worst prospect pool in the league. not concerned with any of the dudes traded away. Salo and Raty stayed.

Idk how high the ask will be on Chychrun, he had a super bad year. You could chalk it up to the team being really bad I suppose, but Gostisbehere just straight up outperformed him
