Sens aren't going to shell out JBD for 2 years of Zaitsev on the books. I know he's bad, but he's not "give up a RD that will be solid" bad. Especially where RD is a weak spot in the organization already.

That's fair. Perhaps I could swap him with Boucher or someone?

You would certainly be in a rebuilding phase, Anderson is your #1 good luck.

I think OTT would look at that trade hard, however, I think the 1st needs to be 2023 not this years, too many good wingers available at 7 OA.

Also I think there would have to be an extension agreed upon before the trade, OTT can't just throw all the money at him and a 24-year-old with 2 40-goal seasons is gonna cost what $8-10 a season long term. Sens still have to give contracts to Norris, Stuztle, Sanderson, and a supporting cast including a long-term goalie. So they may not be able to afford to make that trade.

I see it as all one trade and you're getting DeBrincat, the real question is what his extension $$$.

If sens want to make a splash and really shot after a top 6 winger via trade, JDB probably is the most expendable and piece that gets the most return. or Thompson. WE need wingers and still, I would't move Grieg, Sokolov or Boucher.

Boucher is probably out as well. You're not going to just use a kid you picked top 10 a year ago as an add in, regardless of interpretation of value he still isnt just going to be a throw in. You're going to be looking more at a Joseph level throw in, production but not something you'll miss long term.

I was referencing the portion that says JBD to take on Zaitsev, I just don't think you should do that. But then again its Dorion so all bets are off.

I like this Cat trade, though id be curious what his extension would be.

I also think CHI would want a bit more (JBD to Branny at least)

Pitt accepts if Kane agrees to sign a multi year extension, although they probably don’t trade Poulin by giving you equal value in different assets

Strome for a 1st +? I thought you guys didn't even want to QO him. Can't see him getting more than a 2nd at best.

Two second rounders = a late first, IMO.

Bruins decline. Not going to give up a 1st in a deep draft when the Bruins are teetering on a rebuild.

For the Pens, not a trade I was thinking about but, I think I'd gladly accept that deal. Would be interesting.

JBD for taking Zaitsev's deal : Sens really shouldn't pay that to get rid of Zaitsev but overall this is a solid proposal and FAIR for once. The main piece is the 7th OA piece and you only ask quality pieces after that, not more elite pieces like some do

I wouldn't mind doing :

Bernard-Docker, Jacob
Järventie, Roby
2022 1st round pick (OTT)
2022 2nd round pick (TBL)

for

DeBrincat, Alex

That would be even worse. He was their 10th OA pick just a year ago. Even if we don't like the pick, they're not going to send that prospect back for a 2 years contract they don't even need to get rid of. They could just send him to the AHL or leave him in the press box and play him when injuries

Honestly, if that's is the trade that the Blackhawks want for Debrincat, I take it and run, barring if he wants like 10 or more million dollars per year. Yes you lose the 7OA and 2 good prospects, but you get a 24 year old who has scored 40 goals in the NHL (twice actually), and that, who knows, may reach fifty goals in his career since he is still entering his prime years.

I think that is a fair deal for Cat. Maybe toss in a guy like kastelic or something and I think Chi accepts.
