Created by: ReelBigFan
Team: 2022-23 Philadelphia Flyers
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 9, 2022
Published: Jun. 10, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Most of this is just to make the team terrible for a year and have a ton of cap next season while picking up picks. I also want to try ghost on LW, this is obviously what Philly should’ve done when they needed to bring a D to forward due to having too many D on roster and not trusting Ghost in his own zone. The guy is a 50 point player, essentially built like the perfect winger, a Johnny Hockey type… but he is playing the wrong position. We raise his value and trade him at the deadline for a good return.

Kadri we overpay for one year with most his contract as a signing bonus, then at the TDL we have a team retain on him and ship him to the blues to line with Perron ; )

Most these deals look fair, and Ghost would make a fantastic winger, but probably on the right side. Lefties are best on the left for D and on the right for wing

that is a lot to give up for Koneceny but I think Sens would have to look hard at it.

Also, I don't think this team wins the lottery though.

The leafs arnt giving up all that when they are taking just as big a cap dump back and only getting an over paid 3rd liner as value back

Strangely enough, if I was CGY, I would 100% make that deal.

I agree, bring down that 2nd to a 3rd and I think that's fair value.

Why does it feel like you're selling extremely low on Couts? What do I, as a DRW fan, not know?

Mrazek is 2 years and useless, Holl is a 7th D that’s 1.2 million over paid, every time someone trades Simmonds on here from the leafs it’s for a 7th

Monahan retained isn’t a cap dump, it’s a good bottom 6 guy, just like Laughton. Leafs need depth, this takes dead cap for good players for a late first and a prospect… you’re not giving up much…

I saw this deal before, I like Val a lot, and just decided this would be a good way to help sign Kadri and start a rebuild… there would probably be better offers, I just used this for

Dang, tried to make them really bad but it’s true they still have some talent and the grit could be a huge factor lol

OK, makes sense. Do you think Couts' injuries will affect his performance through that long contract? Looks like he hasn't played a full year in some time...

I make a lot of TK for Lodin, a first, and Brannstrom offers, which I just realized I forgot to sign Brannstrom lol, wasn’t sure if moving the pick back would land Osta, but could move the pick back further, or send a 3rd back to keep the 2nd

I think this was his first time missing more than 5 games… I think he had Covid last year and missed a few but I’m not 100% sure on that

I’m not worried about that contract, it seems long and high but when Weber signed his extension everyone thought 7 million was insane, now most teams have 3-4 guys at that or more… in 3 years that contract probably looks really nice

Holl is a 4th defender by every metric and looks like one on the ice and he's paid fairly.
Monahan is a pure cap dump, he's terrible
Laughton is fine but over paid.
Swapping cap dumps and equal value players does not get you a 1st and a good prospect.
You dont give up anything of positive value, you certainly dont get stuff of higher positive value

I don’t really even care about the Flyers that much… they are a terrible team. Ive watches the Habs, Sens, and Avs more than I’ve watched the Flyers the past decade.

But yeah, Holl is totally a top 4 D on any team… even on one of the worst defensive teams in the league he is a 3RD… and that’s without counting the drafting of Jiricek lol… so, 4RD if he lands in Philly

Im not saying he is bad, but Michael Jackson wrote a song about him

Ive seen how you defend awful flyers players, youre a flyers homer to the bone.
And Yes, holl is a top 4d, as in he can play on the 2nd pair and do a decent job of it. He's literally been doing that for years and would be there for over half the teams in the league.
As far as one of the worst defensive teams, are you talking about the leafs? Because they're actually one of the better defensive teams in the league .
Or are you talking about the flyers? Where last year hed have been their 2nd best defender all year (not saying much i know) but he would have been.
But im sure you totally did your research on holl, watched the games, checked the numbers and all that, right?

I can just copy paste this with the leafs and you… I mean, you’re defending Holl now which several dozen people on here have voiced about not wanting him on their team. He is a plug. A pylon. A Hal Gill. An L7 weenie.

I always use facts and numbers, you complain no matter what. So all I’ll say to you before I stop responding is… chill man, it’s just capfriendly

Calgary would probably accept if you add MacEwen, I doubt both Lucic and Monahan waive though. I would still probably accept if you removed one of them

So your source on a player being bad is other people saying hes bad without looking into it yourself, what did you say to me about hart? Oh yes, you said you need to watch him. Have you watched holl? No, you havent. Have you looked at his numbers? No, you havent.
You have No idea of he's good or not you just wanna wallow in him being bad

I’ve watched Holl, I had him on my fantasy team… I’m just pointing out that the majority agrees with me here.
