That Puljuarvi deal is sickening. He's such an awful player. He's a bum who skates around and can't finish. Such an overpayment. Gross. Terrible.

Draisaitl is insane but don't think the Isles can gut their star goaltender and best defenseman on the team and expect to win anything.

It’s a hard no from the Isles. It’s a ridiculous offer.

Oilers lose that Isles deal miserably. Sorokin and Pelech are great but nothing compared to Draisaitl.

Well start doing some serious offers then, because it's been 24 hours of EDM fans suggesting, capdumps, fringe players and 28th overall pick.

Bourgault is a good start here.

I don’t think Isles would trade either of them one for one in a Draisaitl deal lol.

Draisaitl is obviously one of the best players in the league but I can't see the Islanders doing this. Trading Pelech makes their LD depth chart entering the year basically nothing; trading Sorokin is trading a top-5 goalie in the league and opening up a decent sized hole where you need to find *at least* a 1B goalie to pair up with Varlamov. It's opening two holes in your team's composition to cover up one (lack of scoring) and I just don't think it makes sense.

Draisaitl is a top 5 player in the league. Those guys are great but definitely nowhere near his dominance.

I get that positionally maybe the Isles wouldn't do it (I wouldn't trade Shesterkin for Draisaitl). But Draisaitl for Sorokin + Pelech is more than fair value for both sides.

Oh, I'm a Flames fan, I want the Oilers to get Anderson more than any other guy out there this off season. It would be exactly the sub lateral step that that team has made for yeeaaaars. Kane priced himself out of there and Anderson plays a similar style just not nearly as well. They'd be a better team addressing so many different areas before this.

You answered your own question when you said u wouldn’t trade Igor for Draisaitl. Idea that Draisaitl is worth both of them is bordering on delusional.

Draisaitl is worth Sorokin + Pelech, and also Shesterkin alone. But I'm agreeing with you that positionally, I wouldn't trade Shesterkin for Draisaitl. Though the value IS there for a one for one.

There’s got to be some sort of realization that you can’t just say “Leon Draisaitl for a number 1 d man and a #1 goalie,” and expect people to just say that it’s more than fair. It’s not. It’s laughable to think it is.

He would add a layer to the battle of Alberta for sure. Less cheap move than Kane, more epic fights!

Unfortunately the trade doesn’t make sense for the Isles in anyway shape or form. Can’t trade Pelech or Sorokin and expect to compete, it’s ridiculous.

I'm objectively looking at the values of these players. Sorokin is great, but has a limited showing so far. Pelech is excellent. but he's no Makar. Draisaitl is a top 5 player in the league.

Makar is the best player on his team. Draisaitl would be the best player on his team if it weren't for McDavid. Pelech and Sorokin are not the best players on their teams.

    I agree on that!

EDIT: I was just trying to say that whether they should vs. whether the value is there are two separate things

Sorokin is a proven #1 goalie and would’ve been a vezina candidate if not for Lou ruining the left side of the Isles defensive core. Meanwhile Pelech has shown the impact he can have on opposing teams best players in the post season. Ur undervaluing both players.

It’s easy to underrate Pelech when u don’t want him play. Look at Crosby’s playoff stats Vs Adam Fox and then Vs Adam Pelech. It’s a huge difference.
